Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and other previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

I was slightly fascinated to hear she was still resident at The Bungalow, yesterday. Surely it’s a squeeze - it’s supposed to be tiny?

Madcats · 12/10/2026 15:09

There is a piece in the Birmingham Live published a few hours ago concerning the Archers’ recording arrangements (I would link, but I get presented with an irritating subscription pop up I couldn’t remove).

Seemingly they won’t be recording in Birmingham for much longer and the bigwigs are looking to relocate recording to London or Cardiff (can recommend the BBC tour of the Cardiff building, if you happen to be in area - prebook).

I imagine that might prompt a few of the cast to consider retiring.

FatRosie · 12/10/2026 15:23

@Madcats , Cardiff might be easier to get to than Birmingham for many. No idea where the actors live, but I don't think many are based in the North.

Birmingham is slightly nearer and quicker (about 10 mins) for me but I'm near London and am not in The Archers. Smile

https://archive.ph/vRS6R Here's an archive link to the article. (I always check this site now, as often a kind person has archived something I want to read.)

Not often you see a photo of an actor, an earl and a princess in a studio. Smile

Madcats · 12/10/2026 18:15

Thank you for the hint about archive.ph. I’d never considered that it might be searchable.

Radio (4) do seem to be making some odd choices about what to cut.

TottersBlankly · 12/10/2026 22:24

Haven’t been able to open the archive link yet - but I arrived home twenty minutes ago to hear the 10pm newsreader announcing that ‘The Archers will be the latest victim of the BBC’s drive to cut costs.’ (Or whatever.) That was a bad couple of seconds …

No idea yet whether I should worry about the show being prospectively homeless?

Madcats · 13/10/2026 10:02

I see the Archers' lack of a recording studio in the new building in Birmingham was mentioned on R4 news this morning. I imagine that there will be letters to Feedback (is it still on?).

In other news, the new Radio Times is out for next week.

They have a puff piece on Stella and Pip (and it looks as if anybody can read it online): https://www.radiotimes.com/audio/radio/archers-pip-stella-wedding-relationship-interview/

One thing it mentions is that Stella is 14 years older than Pip (so a 33 year old, marrying a 47 year old).

A quick google tells me that Anna T is 56, which would be a far more realistic pairing in my books. Time will tell, I suppose.

Pip Archer (Daisy Badger) and Stella Pryor (Lucy Speed) sit on a tractor with a banner saying Just Married.

As Ambridge prepares for the wedding of the year, real-life friends Daisy Badger and Lucy Speed reveal they guard their Archers characters closely

Gosh. Has anybody caught the trailer for Sunday's wedding? The SWs appear to have summonsed a close relative of the great storm of '87. Looking through the spoilers upthread, it isn't obvious whether anybody gets deaded.

FatRosie · 15/10/2026 15:22

Not heard the trailer. Knowing the SW the dedded will be the wrong ones.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/10/2026 18:06

Woohoo! Perhaps it will be like The Wizard of Oz and one or more people will be blown over the rainbow. If one of them is Pip, here's hoping there are no ruby slippers to click to get home again.

FatRosie · 15/10/2026 18:43

I'm hoping that Stella will realise that she gas fubar-ed her chances of getting her claws on Brookfield and will call the whole thing off.

CaptainMyCaptain · 15/10/2026 19:23

Wrong thread.

Complete spoilers round up. New Josh is not in the cast lists but does seem to be back in Ambridge in the near future. Denise is back. Joy is also unconfined. Sad On the other hand, there's no Pip in the cast list in the two weeks following the wedding. Maybe she will be blown away!

Radio Times 17th to 23rd October
The week begins with a big reveal: the transport for Pip and Stella’s wedding. But from then on the surprises are not so pleasant. David fears history may be about to repeat itself (an Archer jilting their bride at the altar? A Pargetter falling off the Lower Loxley roof while fixing a banner?) and Ruth receives a phone call that leaves her reeling - not from a height, we hope.

Total TV Guide 17th to 23rd October
Their first meeting, five years ago - when a crow’s entry into the attic at Brookfield got everyone into a flap - didn’t bode well. Yet this week, Pip and Stella - The Archers’ first lesbian couple - tie the knot. The pair are, quite literally, in transports of delight, but a wedding isn’t a wedding without some trouble and strife, not least for Pip’s family. When Ruth gets a bombshell phone call, Ben tries to pick up the pieces. There’s turmoil at Lower Loxley too, when Elizabeth faces a situation that makes her famously stiff upper lip wobble. The family rally round but the future looks uncertain. Also in Ambridge, Eddie and Clarrie find themselves fighting a losing battle, and another resident is in a pretty desperate situation.

25th October - 30th October 2026
25.10 A decision is reached for the Grundys, and there’s disappointment for Akram.
26.10 Ed makes an unsettling discovery, and a bombshell is dropped at the Maliks.
27.10 Rex attempts to bury the truth, and Keira pushes her luck.
28.10 Elizabeth attempts to do the right thing, and it’s panic stations for Will.
29.10 Helen finds herself in a web of deception, and George tries to support a loved one.
30.10 There’s a surprise visitor for Alan, and Jazzer is not impressed.

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .
Maybe she will be blown away! for good.
... and Pip offers reassurance. 'Hi Mum, don't worry. Myself and my daughter are going to be just fine here on Mars. Give our love to Toe B!)

Freddie isn't in the cast. There's the gene test lurking.
There's Berrow cutbacks and Hannah's house, and Anna vs Alan.
The Grundlet will be named.

I’m beginning to wonder whether I dreamt about this? I’ve been home with the radio on for a good few hours/day but I’ve only heard it once. Anyway, Eddie and Clarrie were getting in their car, complaining about how the wind was getting up….

There was an odd 1/2 hearted piece on Today this morning, too.

They are usually so proud of their “shaking Ambridge to the core” pieces.

FatRosie · 17/10/2026 09:47

Was Brad's disastrous driving a clue?

HewasH2O · 17/10/2026 16:17

Perhaps there's a Pip & Stella banner which David needs to pin down in the wind. The only spike he can find is the unicorn horn.

FatRosie · 17/10/2026 16:38

Maybe the children will be playing with bows and arrows and will show that they really are Archers.

By Pryor arrangement, perhaps?

TottersBlankly · 18/10/2026 19:29

Worrying absence of Chelsea after the 18th …

FatRosie · 18/10/2026 21:51

I detest Pip more than ever.

JudyCoolibar · 18/10/2026 23:23

I wonder if the stuff about David fearing that history is repeating itself is related to another of Lizzie's partners dying prematurely?
