Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd swipe right on Dane, the new Grey Gables manager, or other unusual views.

didn't Susan make some reference to campers sometimes coming in and asking for mallets? Which campers? It's the first I've heard of them - I've certainly never heard any campers in the shop

Maybe these mysterious campers are the ones buying the 70,000 different types of sandwich they stock daily and which are bought somehow or other, because there wasn’t much left when Ben came in. Previously, when there was that Best Before Mild Peril incident with Rochelle, they seemed to have enough sandwiches to stock a decent-sized hypermarket.

I have so many questions about last night. Where does Susan get the money, and permission, to buy the stock to turn the shop in an Ambridge branch of Screwfix? Who actually OWNS the shop? Why does Susan seemingly have carte blanche to run it like her own hobby project? Why doesn’t Akram own a mallet already - isn’t he a plumber?

It's all too baffling.

Doesn't rewilding have a campsite? Not that I can remember where the land is in relation to Ambridge, but I seem to remember some sort of drama with the eco loos and fairy lights(?) before it opened.

I struggle to believe that a tradesman has no mallet (I bet that Joy/Helen/Tom would have one too).

There is a campsite.
Roy, his Date, his Ex , his Daughter and the Cattle all featured on it. [In a comedy caper epidode I thought was actually funny]

I would also have sent a laugh. As it is, I sent a clapping hand. At least I think that's what it is but I suppose it could mean something horrible without me knowing.

Since watching Adolescence I'm a bit scared of using any emojis.

We didn't hear the MAMIL horde, either, but they have only to happen once for Susan to assume they will be an everyday occurrence and add stock accordingly.

I noted the mention of the camp site.

I was amused at Fallon's confession that she doesn't actually miss her dreary husband. Nor do we, Fallon. With any luck he couldn't come back because he has up-duffed a member of whatever group he is meant to be investigating and will find himself simultaneously divorced and sacked. If he could do all this silently, it would be a bonus.

I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Pa Malik. He pootles about pleasantly but pointlessly. Dane has usurped him as Helen's love interest.

I would have thought Mr Malik would have been horrified at the idea he might be Helen's love interest.

What's made people think that the Malik dad, who is( presumably) happily married, is going to cheat on his wife, leave his family, and be anyone in Ambridge's love interest? Have I missed something?

I can imagine Borsetshire's Finest finding someone mallet-ed to death and immediately arresting ALL the Maliks on the basis that "killed by a mallet" and "Killed by a Malik" sound the same to them.

I think it’s a bit of wishful thinking that he will be the new Brian!!

And decided that Ambridge is not her home, has not-a-lot to offer her, and she has no interest in living there.

I enjoyed the interaction between Kirsty & Justin but why was she being so conciliatory towards stroppy Tony who was being very rude? Is he in charge of the longhorns?

Because Tony has just lost his mother? I can easily understand how people lose track of things and overreact, having been through it.

He is meant to be some sort of agricultural or at least cattle advisor to the rewinding project.
