All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd swipe right on Dane, the new Grey Gables manager, or other unusual views.

It ought to have been either that he was caught in traffic or that he'd had to go back to work suddenly. Both seems like overkill.

But she won't want people worrying that she is neglecting Martha. Perfectly reasonable.

I found it very poignant that Patricia Greene obviously isn’t able to deliver that speech herself any more. Feels a bit as though they were quietly saying goodbye to her as well as to Peggy.

Until the doctor called her name I hadn't considered that Martha's surname is Carter, what a poor combination, almost a rhyme, like being called Humphrey Dumfries or something.

It's terrible.

Martha didn't win the Nobel Prize for Physics! I know she graduated top of her year from Cambridge, got her Ph.D. one year later and won the Fields Medal for her contribution to mathematics, which isn't even her main subject, but obviously she would have done even better if I hadn't drunk during my pregnancy. How can I ever forgive myself?

It’s even worse in YokelChris’s accent. And ‘Martha Jasmine’ is a weird combination, imo.

I didn't know her middle name was Jasmine. That is really quite an odd combination, to put it almost politely.

I agree, I really hope they don’t shuffle her off to the Laurels as well, I would like a more Joe Grundy type of death for her when the time comes. On a bench by her beehives in the afternoon sun maybe, with Bess letting up a solitary goodbye whine afterwards.

But I'd far rather see Pip disappearing over the cliff edge, to be honest.

If it's Pip, I'm happy for her to be pushed, there must be a few willing candidates to do the pushing.
