Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5-10 January
Leonard is knocked sideways by some emotional news and all does not go well when he faces a difficult day with the Brookfield family standing by his side. Harrison has to fight to keep his emotions in check when he faces a challenging callout, but then receives a surprising offer from his superior. Lily takes matters into her own hands when Brad tells her he's struggling, Jolene makes a rash decision at The Bull, and Khalil's mouth runs away with him.

12th January – 17th January 2025
12.1 Justin faces a dilemma, and plans forge ahead for Ruth.
13.1 Joy isn’t herself at all, and Helen considers her options.
14.1 Rex is left confused, and Neil has questions.
15.1 The verdict is in for Kirsty, and Brian finds himself out of his comfort zone.

Gasp, I can’t imagine for a minute that Peggy would leave ‘all the money ( that is supposing that she’d got any) to Alush Alice - she was married to a drunk, after all, and she would not want it being pissed away.

For about a second I wondered if Alice might have been left everything … I am still worried that none of the SWs was willing to touch ‘the money’ question - so it will remain unresolved until a new editor / producers / whoever come up with some half-arsed explanation a few years hence.

On the podcast this week, Michael Cochrane said that "People like Dane coming in and being so extraordinary is a blessing. And the more disasters the better" - in the context that if these things didn't happen then Oliver wouldn't feature. So I'm wondering if that means Dane is going to be another disaster.

Henry got the £278 - same as everyone else. If Henry were the missing residuary beneficiary the executors can tell Helen now. They wouldn't be able to say exactly how much, but they can let the beneficiary know.

Noli and Sipho … Interesting … They’re 24 and around 18 now. I vaguely recall Noli and Peggy getting on well when they were last together but can’t remember if they parted on good terms.

Didn’t Jenny leave a fairly neglible sum for Martha? Something like £15k? I know Alice was mortified but it definitely wasn’t a vast amount that set her above any other hungry Aldridge.

Alice was mortified because Martha was left money and Jennifer's other grandchildren were not. She started trying to divide it up between all of them and Adam was really cross with her about her trying to refuse to accept what Jennifer wanted.

Does anyone know when a will becomes publicly available? Chat GPT estimates 4 to 8 weeks for probate to be granted, then the will is a public document. Not sure if that means you can work out how much money the residual beneficiaries get.

It varies a great deal, I believe, depending on the size and complexity of the estate, how quickly the executor gets on with the job and the backlog at HMRC and the Probate Office. In this case, it will take as long as the SWs deem necessary, I expect!

I think it took 18 weeks for us to be granted probate in 2021, but HMRC/probate were pretty chaotic post lockdown and I think they were told to get their act together. 4 weeks would have been brilliant!

If Peggy just had listed investments, cash and a few paintings/jewellery the accountant doesn’t really have much to value. Presumably the rewilding trust is empty by now (and accts all up to date).

I can’t help wondering whether there might be something shifty with the will (but I don’t think the SWs are clued up enough to pull it off; they’ve already had to use an abattoir expert recently so their budget for consulting experts is probably burnt through for this year).

Just found next week's RT on another Archers site. Looks promising.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 1-6 June
Fallon has big plans for Harrison's return on his 40th birthday. But as friends gather to celebrate, a spanner is thrown in the works that leaves Fallon and Harrison's relationship in question. Meanwhile, David makes a risky decision, Ben considers his options, Azra fails to assuage Alice's guilt and Justin's suspicions about a financial matter could be answered by an encounter with a stranger.

Imaani in the cast list is presumably going to be the nursery manager.

Actually, scrub that about Imaani. She's in next week's cast list, not this week's.

Harrison turning up for his 40th birthday party, organised by his wife, accompanied by a new girlfriend, would be excruciating listening! I'm assuming a tamer version - he doesn't come back for it.
