Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd love to be married to Harrison, or other unusual views.

Spoilers: not on this thread, please! My shouting at the radio resumed at the not-quiet-enough “and me” when Fallon said she still had nightmares. Christ, he’s the very embodiment of a million AIBU threads about men who have to make everything about themselves and what they want.

By the time we got to the bit where he insisted “We’d make the best of it, you’d come to terms with it” I was incandescent with rage. He did not stop for one effing moment to consider what Fallon did or didn’t want, and vague suggestions of “making the best of it” belied him getting what he’d always wanted after all.

He can say what he likes but I don’t think he’s ever truly accepted that Fallon doesn’t want children.

Still, it’s for the best. It’s all out there now - Harrison needs to decide whether he can stay with someone who is not going to have children ever (because I could hear him edging towards the suggestion of trying for another baby, after his conversation with The Sausage Botherer) and Fallon needs to decide if she can take the risk of staying in a relationship where she can’t trust that he won’t have another epiphany about how much he wants to have kids and leave her. And given how unutterably and unattractively drippy he’s being, my nethers would have slammed shut in recoiled horror a long time ago anyway.

Fallon love, I’ve been there. Walk away.

Joy was dead right about people reading her stuff without her permission, how dare they!

I like Joy (SO THERE!), and will probably continue to like her even if she turns out to be a murderess. I mean, I can imagine circumstances in which I might become one, and anyone who can't frankly just lacks imagination.

I would, for example, happily murder Harrison right now. Obviously I would never be caught, what with not being a character in The Archers. 😀

I was cheering Fallon on tonight, when she pointed out to him that she was the one who was pregnant, and that the miscarriage was physically painful. Self absorbed maudlin twat.

Is a tiny bit of Fallon thanking Alice, d’you think? Not for the suffering and loss, as Harrison claimed, but for the consequent revelation of where her husband’s priorities actually lie.

This is my dread. And then everyone in the Archers will miraculously be perfectly fine with calling him Joy's daughter, no one will mention that he's clearly a man whether he's cut off his penis or not, there will be no discussion and there will be not one voice of reason stating that a man cannot magically turn into a woman.

I think this was the first time we've heard Joy get cross, she is definitely panicking.

Where was the address they sent the invitation to? I always thought Rochelle lived a long way away?
Also has there ever been any mention of a ex husband or Rochelle's father? I can't think of anything. In fact I can't think of a single thing we know about Joy's life before Ambridge? Except the elusive Rochelle.

I genuinely fist pumped in the car (I wasn't driving) when Fallon said "I was pregnant" . Gwan girl!

I could hear him edging towards the suggestion of trying for another baby, "Edging"? He as good as told her she needed to get pregnant again to recover from the miscarriage.

So confused by where Rochelle was supposed to be! Local enough for Mick to hammer on the door in cahoots with Elizabeth (odd) but I’m sure she said she was ‘back home’ implying Newcastle 😫 I also missed the party thing, news to me it was being planned - must have had a brain slip. Like Fallon did when she married Harrison the odious, self-absorbed mega twat.

Perhaps the cricket on Sunday will see Harrison running round with his pants on his head shouting ‘I’m a cuckoo’

his descent into madness is quite something to behold and I really think he’d be a terrible father. Even when he talks about having kids it’s about him as a father not about bringing a human into the world.

and let’s face it, out of the two of them who would have ended up with the mental load and being guilted into turning down work to do the childcare while he went to work/cuckoo listening

From past and bitter experience of complaining to the BBC on this subject (Drag Race/the BBC actually releasing a song about “hating TERFs”), the BBC won’t give a toss.

Or , unlike just about everyone else in Ambridge, Joy has enough good manners not to throw a wobbly and ruin what was a well intentioned and enjoyable event for everyone else who was there.
