All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you think Steph Casey is a wonderful addition to the programme, or similar odd views.

I did wonder what that getting a flat talk was about. Was it Russ hoping to join in with the student set? Reminds me of Kate and Phoeble at college at the same time. Wonder if they still have the fancy kettle.

Won't Lily be embarrassed to introduce her dad-aged boyfriend to her uni friends? Much as I adore Russ, I fear he's hoping to relive his youth with them. Cringe!

I don’t understand! Scumbag has already scuppered Lily’s first attempt at undergrad life - and now he’s trying to muscle in on her second attempt? Has no one told him he was the reason Manchester didn’t work out for her?

Don’t know what the SWs are playing at, but the idea of Lily going off to university shackled to him again is almost obscenely awful.

Surely they’ll have her decide to move into student accommodation on her own?

When was it decided that Lily would go to Felpersham Uni? I must have tuned that out.

I'm pretty sure it's the first time it's been mentioned. She would have to have applied ages ago. Russ will totally cramp her style and she still won't get to have the university experience she missed last because of Russ'.

If Lily were my friend/daughter/niece I would be so sad she's missed out on all the fun, formative years of late teens/early 20s.

I’m fairly certain I remember a conversation she had with someone about her decision, a few months ago. But I can’t remember with whom - whether Scumbag, or her mother, or brother, or Fallon, or ??? The person congratulated her. I probably commented here at the time.

It was very low key and oddly unmentioned since then.

Anyway - I’m hoping Lily noticing that Chelsea fancies him is the start of something ending in epic disgrace and being driven out of Borsetshire for the ghastly parasite.

I take a tiny bit of hope from the fractional pause before her over-gushing response to her suggestion that they find a flat together. Maybe the cogs are starting to creak, albeit very, very slowly. And there was that chance encounter with Sol when a few home truths were spoken…

When Scumbag suggested buying a flat, how exactly are they going to pay for it? I guess Lily may have accumulated a bit from commission, but presumably she's going to have to give up flogging kitchens. Is the Gwen John painting going to fund it?

Wasn’t it Kenton who raised an objection to the existence of Russ in their lives? But he didn’t go to university so may not be the most effective advocate on this. But Phoebe! One phone call with Phoebe would put Lily straight.
