The 🔮 stands by its earlier prediction that Gnasher is pregnant.

Also that Alistair and Smugs will recouple.

BuckingFrolics · 02/05/2019 17:41

I didn't get the sense that Shula was having a crisis of faith in god, more a crisis of faith in her own persona as St. Smugula. I like her now.

I'd like to announce the creation of the Freddie Pargetter Appreciation Society with me as lifetime premiere, in the style of the best totalitarian leadership.

chemenger · 02/05/2019 18:01

Not so much a crisis of faith as a vague uneasiness of faith then.

R4 · 02/05/2019 18:46

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 02/05/2019 19:08

Why is Shula so keen on ecclesiastical art when she’s having a crisis of faith?

Because, as I have said previously, she loves the bit of Being A Christian which boosts her social standing, puts her in charge of other villagers and gives her more opportunity for melting conversations with Alan.

BuckingFrolics · 02/05/2019 19:16

[starts The Real Freddie Pargetter Fan Club and elects self as God]

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2019 19:21

Called it!

Motoko · 02/05/2019 19:23

Yep, me too! I was a bit worried when Elizabeth invited the bailiff in. Glad she was able to pay straight away, because Freddie nearly ended up heading back to prison.

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2019 19:28

I had a bailiff call once, many years ago. Genuinely brought it back...

Choccyp1g · 02/05/2019 19:32

I was fearing for the Gwen John.

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2019 19:33

And where was bloody Russ?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 02/05/2019 19:47

I was expecting Freddie to mention Russ.

£5k!

MikeUniformMike · 02/05/2019 20:18

Yes, where was CMR?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 02/05/2019 20:24

Hiding the letters?

R4 · 02/05/2019 20:27

So not only has LL not got an alcohol licence, it also now has a CCJ against it.
Well done Frilly.Hmm

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 02/05/2019 20:35

Lurker joining in alert. 😁

Couldn't miss the opportunity to be on such a monumental thread. Well, that and the fact I listened "live" for the first time in forever.

Loving Freddie. Loving the fact that Natasha hasn't been on in a while. Please, please don't let her back. Or even better, let Tom join her. 😜😜😜😜

MikeUniformMike · 02/05/2019 20:38

It seems Tom hasn't let on that Tash is AWOL. At least Radio Carter will probably let people know.

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 02/05/2019 20:41

Well, that was a good revelation episode! agreeing with others about CMR - in what world would the mother of a distressed daughter not be saying, "Look, this should not have been your problem alone to sort out. Where was your boyfriend (twice your age and experience) in all this?"

Presumably Freddie will have lots of words to say.

MollyButton · 02/05/2019 20:53

[President of the Wee Free Freddie Pargetter appreciation society]

The shop is owned by Hazel but is a "village amenity" so has to be a shop and probably the rent etc is controlled. The shop itself is run as a volunteer run enterprise, except Susan is the Postmistress.

I wonder if Leonard has spent sometime inside, some of his comments seem to hint at it.

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2019 20:56

CCJs are attached to people, not addresses. It might be a problem for Lizzie getting credit for supplies and stuff.....
They got round to bailiffs very quickly- it’s only been 6 months or so, hasn’t it?

GeorgeTheBleeder · 02/05/2019 20:59

< sets up rival Society for the Appreciation of Freddie Pargetter >

Ahem!

Grin

Extraordinarily strange that no one mentioned Scumbag Russ. But it’s rare for an episode to actually make my heart thump a bit. Has that ever happened in real life? Inviting the bailiff in and casually paying off the £5k on your credit guard?

Truly I am in the wrong life.

(They have never called on me but I can’t inagine a person being able to pay such an amount so easily ... Will it be a matter for the LL trustees? Or is it too insignificant to seriously erode the inheritance?)

Definite BOOP.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 02/05/2019 21:01

Hmm Stupid phone has some funny ideas about life. Much as I’d adore a ‘credit guard’ that wasn’t actually what I intended to write ...

chatnicknameyousuggested · 02/05/2019 21:03

I really like Lenberry, but... the word mountebank from a PP set me thinking...
Maybe he's in it for the long game, some kind of mega scam involving fleecing LL of its antiques?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 02/05/2019 21:05

I think Freddie should put CMR in the suit of armour...

R4 · 02/05/2019 21:10

I thought that Leonard wanted to see the attics because of his architectural interests but he said very little about the fabric of the building (and what he did say was very simplistic), he seemed more taken by the antiques and curio.
