Archers Thanks to LilG for the title, and DDD for starting the last thread and the tradition of the thread starter nominating the next thread starter Grin

Lurkers are always welcome to unlurk and join in, including asking questions of the many very knowledgeable posters with a long Archers-listening history.

Don't post spoilers based on forthcoming plot synopses that you've read, there's another thread for that (and we'd love to see you over there). Once an episode has aired then it's fair game. Archers

Oh look, we’re 800 posts in. Which means we’ll soon need a volunteer to start the next thread.

If Lexi is dumping Roy why did she come back at all. Maybe she's pregnant and having doubts.

DadDadDad · 07/11/2018 19:46

Ok, I get that Lexi’s feelings have cooled and she was trying to hint (“you have to listen to what people are not saying” - yeah, thanks SW, we get it). So when Roy declared his love, why wasn’t she more evasive rather than saying “I love you”? Or is this just the enigmatic nature of womankind? Hmm

DadDadDad · 07/11/2018 19:49

Yes, glamarousgrandma’s question occurred to me. Surely, she would phone Roy from Bulgaria and let him down gently “my girls need me”. Is there something else at play or is she is very committed to Adam & Ian’s plans?

chemenger · 07/11/2018 19:51

I felt Tony thought she was a tedious know-it-all.

witchmountain · 07/11/2018 19:58

Well she could be coming back for the same reason she came in the first place, to earn a living and send money home!

Maybe she does love him. Doesn’t mean she wants to be in a relationship with him.

I got the impression that the conversation about bad backs was really Hannah's coded message to Lexi that she had better watch her own back.

Fink · 07/11/2018 21:20

Change counting! Star

InkySplatter · 07/11/2018 21:22

The announcer poor Roying ruffled my feathers this evening. Poor Lexi more like, leaving her children behind. Is Roy so completely self obsessed that it didn't occur to him that this would be hard for her?

My last cleaner was Bulgarian - she was a speech and language therapist at home but had taken time out from her job to earn money here as a cleaner. The children she worked with weren't even hers and she still missed them and her home terribly.

InkySplatter · 07/11/2018 21:46

I had to take my 2 year old to A&E with an orange pip stuck up her nose last night so have noticed my phone autocorrects pip to Pip.

She's inadvertently been in thoughts a lot today. Ugh.Smile

DadDadDad · 07/11/2018 22:01

Oh, I hope little Inky's nose is OK now. My DS got a pea stuck up his nose many years ago, and my DW rushed down the road to friends who are paediatricians, who suggested the blowing in his mouth trick to propel it out (and it worked).

InkySplatter · 07/11/2018 23:50

The inkling was instantly much better, if a little chagrin thank you DDD. Hopefully she's learnt her lesson, I thought she was the sensible one.

Ooh we tried that method too (amongst others) but to no avail. The dreaded Pip was so large we definitely needed a nurse with a special hoover.

Eastpoint · 08/11/2018 07:28

Love how the autocorrect struck again.

Poor Lexi, I wonder if she’ll want to save up so she can see her girls at Christmas?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 08/11/2018 07:31

Well I guess she's come back to try for another baby so we'll see how that goes.

QuaterMiss · 08/11/2018 07:47

Was the insistence on a glass of wine at the Bull their way of telling us that Lexi is not pregnant?

Because I had a slight feeling that the rest of her behaviour might suggest that she is ... Though I guess it would have been difficult to hide from Roy.

BertrandRussell · 08/11/2018 07:56

I reckon the trip to the pub was just an attempt to put off going home- she’s wimping out of dumping him.

glamorousgrandmother · 08/11/2018 08:19

Good point.

witchmountain · 08/11/2018 09:41

I’d have needed a glass of wine if I’d been met with that barrage from Roy and I wasn’t feeling the same.

If she’s dumping Roy where is she planning to live I wonder?

birdsdestiny · 08/11/2018 12:48

With Adam and Ian?

ChampooPapi · 08/11/2018 13:43

I keep missing it this week, what is the Lexi situation? From the sounds of it it's to make everyone think she is/not pregnant, but what are we thinking?!

R4 · 08/11/2018 14:04

Lexi can work in chicken factories anywhere so she has come back to Ambridge specifically because either
-she's in luuuurve with Roy. Didn't sound like it last night. Or
-she wants to do the surrogacy thing, which would be tricky if she was already up-duffed.

She's not currently pregnant. And wants to stay that way until the surrogacy.

ChampooPapi · 08/11/2018 14:04

I'm catching up with last nights now so i'll listen carefully!

TheEfficientBaxter · 08/11/2018 14:06

Oh dear, Roy! That welcome was a bit much.

Yes Smile change counting!

Nice to hear Lilian too.

ChampooPapi · 08/11/2018 14:07

I feel for Roy but I find him so boring!
