Archers Thanks to LilG for the title, and DDD for starting the last thread and the tradition of the thread starter nominating the next thread starter Grin

Lurkers are always welcome to unlurk and join in, including asking questions of the many very knowledgeable posters with a long Archers-listening history.

Don't post spoilers based on forthcoming plot synopses that you've read, there's another thread for that (and we'd love to see you over there). Once an episode has aired then it's fair game. Archers

Not one person in Ambridge, I should have said. Not on MN!

Still cross though Angry

I think Neil's prolonged back is to allow more machinations and screw-ups by Hannah. Why he doesn't just email her about the pig situation is beyond me, and he'd have a paper trail about less than shining competence.

I wouldn't like Hilda to go. The best non-speaking character on TA. No cereal cupboard for her.

TheEfficientBaxter · 13/11/2018 21:19

Maybe it's one of those little counter-top dishwashers, Saffy.

Minimammoth · 13/11/2018 23:06

I’m only just catching up and you’re at 979.

"She's an innocent creature, entirely without malice"

Have you ever met a cat??

DadDadDad · 13/11/2018 23:20

I hope ppeatfruit is keeping an eye on things given her plan to wait until post 995 before swooping in with a new thread. Confused

EBearhug · 13/11/2018 23:36

The best non-speaking character on TA.

Non-speaking, but not silent.

BertrandRussell · 13/11/2018 23:42

I've know an lot or people who've had hip replacements- but. Ever one as pathetic as Chris. Am I. Wing mean?

MikeUniformMike · 13/11/2018 23:47

I though Hilda had a speaking part. Isn't she played by the same actor as Elgar in Ed Reardon's Week.
Home Farm could offer Hilda a home.

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 14/11/2018 00:07

Christine came across as both pathetic and horribly manipulative to me - she likes being in The Laurels because there are people to run around for her, but knows that it’s costing Peggy a fortune to keep her there.

I heartily disagree, nothing that Christine has said or done in the past shows her in this light. Her fears are convincingly drawn, for me at least.
I'm in my 60s and broke a limb a few months ago. I was astonished at how fearful it made me feel about very simple things that might make it happen again. That and the fact I've found the only person you can rely on is you; a wake-up call at any age. For clarity I live alone. I'm over the fear now, and only have contend with numpties who say: should you really use a ladder? while not offering to go up the ladder for me, of course.Hmm

Rant over.

LetticeFortescue · 14/11/2018 07:55

Christine or Hilda? Roy or Bulgaria? Hannah or Natasha? Big decisions ahead for Peggy, Lexi and Tom
Is it Natasha or Natalie? I can’t remember.

ppeatfruit · 14/11/2018 08:56

The answer is yes to your enquiry Dad Grin Come on everyone get a move on!

Hilda is a cat who probably had a neglected (maybe abusive) , kittenhood. Given that a lot of Queen cats are naturally aggressively territorial it takes a long time ,if not forever, to socialise them. DH and I have rescued and looked after many cats/strays over the years.

cheminotte · 14/11/2018 09:10

I’m afraid I don’t know anything about cats so can’t really contribute.

TheEfficientBaxter · 14/11/2018 09:18

Yes, thankyou, Bertrand, I have met many cats, as you put it. Including the sixteen who have variously shared my life over the last forty years.

What's your point, exactly?

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 14/11/2018 09:34

Sorry to hear you had a break, Echt - I can sadly believe that people watch you and comment without helping.

For me, it sounded as though Christine had no intention of wanting to move back even before the litter tray incident. Just those little comments and a general air of reluctance to acknowledge the work that’s been done to the house. Then to have a ever-extending period of how much longer she wants to stay on at The Laurels.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2018 09:43

“Yes, thankyou, Bertrand, I have met many cats, as you put it. Including the sixteen who have variously shared my life over the last forty years.

Eek- should I have put “light hearted” after my post?

ppeatfruit · 14/11/2018 09:44
