Archers Thanks to LilG for the title, and DDD for starting the last thread and the tradition of the thread starter nominating the next thread starter Grin

Lurkers are always welcome to unlurk and join in, including asking questions of the many very knowledgeable posters with a long Archers-listening history.

Don't post spoilers based on forthcoming plot synopses that you've read, there's another thread for that (and we'd love to see you over there). Once an episode has aired then it's fair game. Archers

Ohhhh right! Silly me Blush

Should've known you'd be on first name terms......Grin

TheEfficientBaxter · 12/11/2018 12:29

I was just pondering about Hannah, and why she's so popular amongst the single (youngish) men in Ambridge, ie: Tom, Jazzer, Johnny etc.

It made me realise how few single and available (fairly young) women there are to go around.

No wonder they're all drawn to her with such fatal fascination Shock

Apart from Tracy Horrobin and The Button Girls, who else is there? Smile

ppeatfruit · 12/11/2018 12:51

TheEfficient I've got a thing about Simon Williams have you seen the repeats of Upstairs Downstairs? He's gorgeous, Or he was Grin.

Hannah is supposed to be pretty IIFRC. Though that was said by Jazzer (I think) when she first arrived recently in the Bull so it could've been the beer goggles Grin

I suppose that the price of property causes the house sharing.

TheEfficientBaxter · 12/11/2018 13:13

I'm probably being thick again, but...

I know what IIRC means, but what does IIFRC mean, please?

I don't know what's wrong with me today. Can't seem to get my brain out of first gear!!

ppeatfruit · 12/11/2018 17:03

Sorry Blush silly me, I'm tired, I meant "If I remember correctly" Blush

birdsdestiny · 12/11/2018 17:26

If it was a choice between getting rid of Hannah or Tom I would choose Tom every time. I am bored with his endless useless business ideas, bored with his failed personal life, bored, bored, bored.

LassWiADelicateAir · 12/11/2018 17:43

Also remember there is a vacancy that has been left by Lil ( I wouldn't put it past the lovely Hannah to have an attempt at filling it

That is actually the only polausible explanation for having Hannah in the the story lines.

TheEfficientBaxter · 12/11/2018 19:08

Shooler Grin !!

ppeatfruit · 12/11/2018 20:51

Lass They definitely deserve one another. Yeuch.

cheminotte · 13/11/2018 10:33

Well Helen is also single but a single mum with her history isn’t quite as attractive. And we can see who is being lined up for her.
Anyone any idea what the male female ratio is in the Archers? It feels like there are more men or maybe the single men are younger and the single women older (Peggy, Christine)?

LetticeFortescue · 13/11/2018 11:45

Re a title - every time I hear mention of Lexi’s home country I think of Great Uncle Bulgaria and TA characters wombling along - can anyone make a title of that? I think Helen is Madame Cholet, and Jonny would be Orinoco. Who are the other Wombles?

LetticeFortescue · 13/11/2018 11:47

Tony would be great Uncle to Adam’s child so he’d be Great Uncle Bulgaria?

DadDadDad · 13/11/2018 13:06

I believe there was a McWomble with kilt and bagpipes, but I just... can't... think... who that might correspond to in TA. Grin

LetticeFortescue · 13/11/2018 13:17

DDD - well it would be unlikely to have a bagpipe playing, kilt wearing Scotsman in rural middle England Ambridge wouldn't it? Grin

cheminotte · 13/11/2018 14:20

Absolutely Lettice , that would be a stereotype too far!

TheEfficientBaxter · 13/11/2018 16:05

I rather think that DDD was hinting at Jazzer.

LetticeFortescue · 13/11/2018 16:28

I rather thought so too Baxter Grin

cheminotte · 13/11/2018 17:08

Me three!

InkySplatter · 13/11/2018 17:16

Saw this and thought of Ben

InkySplatter · 13/11/2018 17:17

Tell a lie, actually thought of Hannah.

Eastpoint · 13/11/2018 18:37

Tobermory is your womble DadDadDad

TheEfficientBaxter · 13/11/2018 19:02

Inky- Bit insulting to badgers, that Smile

InkySplatter · 13/11/2018 19:25

She really is the lowest common denominator isn't she?

SaffyRosie · 13/11/2018 19:40

Neil/Neal - crap storyline about his bad back. If you have a bad back you don't empty a dishwasher - stooping over and bending down is guaranteed to aggravate it. No way would he do that.

TheEfficientBaxter · 13/11/2018 19:42

Too true, Inky!

And I am sick of hearing everybody bad-mouthing Hilda.

Not one person has had a good word to say about her since she joined the cast.

She's an innocent creature, entirely without malice - and if Peggy sends her away it will make me thoroughly cross.
