No, that's not a jokey exaggeration, this is really the 93rd thread in a series started by PseudoBadger five years ago! In fact, post number 90,000 in the "official" count will be made on this thread.

Lovers of The Archers welcome (along with the rest of us who have a more complicated relationship with the "TA" ).

One rule we try to stick to: No mentioning of future episode plotlines published in the Radio Times etc. However, once an episode has aired, say what you like!

What is going to happen to Freddie? And are we ever going to hear from Lily again?
I also am wondering what it will take for Kenton to apologise to Fallon...

Friday's episode was very well written. There was a distinctly familiar note in Lizzie's indignation and sheer lack of logic, e.g when she responded to David and Kenton's doubts about Freddie's chances of appealing by saying "So it's OK for him to be attacked, is it?". It's the sort of total non-sequitur you hear quite often when someone feels backed into a corner.

I'm finding Lily's silence utterly unconvincing since last time she was talking about Freddie it was all her on his side, more like Kenton (and with full knowledge of the extent of his dealing) than her earlier critical stance.
Possibly this will turn out to be Russ isolating her from rels and friends. Or he's got his tagine in a twist.:o

Agree. I can't believe Lily wouldn't have contacted her family after her brother got sent down. Unless there was something I've missed.

Lily is probably reoccupied trying to come to terms with the reality of Russ who complains that Lily is at college all day, is spending too much time with her new friends, and drops into the conversation that Lara makes a really delicious tagine and Lara puts the bins out and that he's worried about Lara who won't know what to do with herself now he's gone.

Won’t Lily be too busy juggling waitressing shifts to spend much time in lectures/tutorials or even to have made any friends?

Hi everyone, a bit of a newbie here, but I just wanted to find out what the consensus is about Jazza and what he looks like. I picture him as Rab C Nesbitt kind of character, but maybe (just maybe) he might be attractive? Would he and Hannah maybe get together?

Don't Jazzer & Hannah have history together from a few years' back? Or am I confusing two people?

Jazzer looks to be interested in Hannah, for sure (having recently been forced to abandon his last hopes of Fallon) and her moments of distraction from Tom are when Jazzer is around. Although one he's much nicer, and thus far a more interesting character than her (though she's not had that much time yet) I suppose the pair of them might ultimately become the new Pig Monarchs, displacing Tom.

Looks wise, and I know this is surely wrong, a younger and shorter haired Neil Oliver.

(My other completely wrong mental image is that Will looks like the duke of Cambridge (in shooting clothes with shotgun in hand, obv)

Sadly l can’t get an image of my lovely nephew, similar age to Will but completely different otherwise, out of my head when l hear Will.

As for Jazzer, he’s obviously very fit with all his physical work, nice tanned skin as the weather isn’t too bad in Borsetshire, he probably wears overalls and has muck behind his fingernails. Not very tall, and he scrubs his hands every day so the muckiness doesn’t last. He does have nicotine stains he can’t shift though. His hair is short-ish but he cuts it himself so it’s not well styled. He isn’t like Rab C for various reasons. He got out of Glasgow for one so he’s had to tone down his accent so all these English people could understand him - and they seem to have nae bother hearing him. My English MIL told me they had to have subtitles for RAB C whereas there aren’t too many complaints about Jazzer on the medium of radio. Another thing - Rab has Mary Doll in his life whereas Jazzer has made an occasional effort to woo and doesn’t seem as complacent as he’s still on a search for Ms Right.
Though J’s diet isn’t great, it’s considerably better than Rab C’s.

I think l’d describe Jazzer’s accent as ‘unapologetically Scottish’. This is a family joke here - and l’ve heard other Scots use this term. We first heard it from a London journalist who in a music review described Dick Gaughan’s accent as ‘unapologetically Scottish.

I often wonder what it must be like for the Jazzer actor, with his character doing things he can't.

I suppose that must be where great acting ability helps. He really is very good IMO.

What is happening with lowfield? It hasn’t been updated for nearly two months. Do we think that’s it after all these years?

I think the only explanation for Lily not having resurfaced for the trial is that it has all gone pear shaped with Russ and she is bitterly regretting not having moved into halls.

What will happen about the LL license once Freddie is out? Or indeed later when Freddie takes over? And by what will happen, I mean, obviously, what would happen in the real world?

If Lizzie has lost her license because of drug dealing on the premises, is she likely to get it back if she has a convicted drugs dealer living there?

And, Rehabilitation of Offenders Act notwithstanding, is owner Freddie likely to get a license in the future?

I had no idea the Jazzer actor was blind until someone noted upthread that he can’t do many of the same things as jazzer. Pleased to be enlightened.

Off-topic: I have two dresses with pockets, one from Monsoon, one from Sainsbury's. I also have a Sainsbury's skirt with decent-size pockets. Such things may be rare, but they are not just myth and legend.

Anyway, I did listen this evening, and now I have no memory of anything which happened, so I assume it was nothing momentous.
