Archers

No, that's not a jokey exaggeration, this is really the 93rd thread in a series started by PseudoBadger five years ago! In fact, post number Star 90,000 Star in the "official" count will be made on this thread.

Archers

Lovers of The Archers welcome (along with the rest of us who have a more complicated relationship with the "TA" Smile).

One rule we try to stick to: No mentioning of future episode plotlines published in the Radio Times etc. However, once an episode has aired, say what you like!

Archers

What is going to happen to Freddie? And are we ever going to hear from Lily again?
I also am wondering what it will take for Kenton to apologise to Fallon...

Oh crikey. Hello you lot. I'd lost you for months and months but just stumbled across you all.

I hope you've been BOOPing away

witchmountain · 05/10/2018 00:23

A BOOP for your return!

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2018 02:27

BOOP! BOOP!

QuaterMiss · 05/10/2018 06:55

And another BOOOOOOOOP! Star

Welcome back!

(Everyone ((almost)) has namechanged. You won’t recognise us ...)

But yes - we have.

QuaterMiss · 05/10/2018 06:56

Good point about Lexi.

This is definitely autumn.

Perhaps Roy has forgotten her existence?

TigerTeatimes · 05/10/2018 07:08

Are we honestly expecting Lexi back? I liked her but I thought her exit sounded more final than it was supposed to.

I thought Fallon was pregnant unknown even by herself, or at least I wondered at it.

glamorousgrandmother · 05/10/2018 07:19

A fall in the elderly results in lack of mobility which can start a downward spiral, this happened to my dad.

QuaterMiss · 05/10/2018 07:29

Absolutely.

I must say Christine seems to have been singularly unlucky. (IME) I know she’s been a bit clumsy lately but would have thought she was still agile enough to break her fall and not end up with hideous hip and pelvic fracturing.

Not a great outlook, whatever Peggy says. Sad

And I wonder if Peter really will materialise?

birdsdestiny · 05/10/2018 07:32

Well I had completely forgotten about Lexi, not sure that's a particularly good sign. Then again I never believed in Lexi and Roy.
I wonder if they will give up on the surrogacy story and split up Adam and Ian in the aftermath.

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2018 07:38

Good to have you back BOOP Ref. Lynda's sniff; did anyone notice a definite sniff when she was commenting on Emma buying sweets not 'for herself' but for the kids.

cheminotte · 05/10/2018 07:54

BOOP for Kenton’s apology from me.

DadDadDad · 05/10/2018 09:03

Yes, good to see the penny dropping with Kenton, but it feels a bit clunky the way Christine's fall provided a way to bludgeon Kenton with Fallon's heart of gold. He was effectively cornered.

It would have been interesting to have had Kenton visit Freddy and wrestle with the seriousness of what his nephew has done.

BOOP for your return BOOP - I must confess that as we’ve continued to BOOP it’s almost as if you’ve never been away.

NotdeadyetBOING · 05/10/2018 09:58

Another one who thought Fallon might be pregnant.....

Incidentally, what has happened to Alice and her alcohol ishoos storyline? Wonder if it's been forgotten or is bubbling up in the background - only to rear its drunken and unseemly head in time for the Christmas party season.....

witchmountain · 05/10/2018 12:49

I wondered the same about Alice. When checking Fallon's age on the Archers website the there day I noticed it was Alice's 30th the other day which I think went unmentioned?

BitOutOfPractice · 05/10/2018 14:08

Oh you guys thanks for the welcome home! I'm drawing a circle with my toe in front of me and looking bashful

Just listening now...

ErrolTheDragon · 05/10/2018 14:25

Adam must be permanently having quaruplets if tiredness = pregnancy!

I had a narrow escape with my tea when I read that.

Kenton was already realising he'd got it wrong after hearing Freddie's other crimes, but the context of Chris's fall made it easier for him to apologise.

So ... Peggy thinks Chris will be able to come back to the lodge and that Peter (who seems a pretty rare visitor, what does he do and where?) will want to come and help look after her? Hmm. Still, Chris is lucky to have someone like Peggy on her side, who is realistic about what may happen if she gets stuck in the system.

QuaterMiss · 05/10/2018 17:58

Peter is Intendant (or Managing Director) of a German orchestra which I have always assumed to be the Berlin Phil.

We’ll need extra-special celebratory bunting if he puts in an appearance ...

witchmountain · 05/10/2018 18:18

Maybe he can get involved in Lynda's mystery extravaganza.

BikingBeatrix · 05/10/2018 18:35

I did wonder at Peter being ready to help - he rarely appears in Ambridge. He might well be retiring about now but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily ready to care for his aged mother.

I’d expect to hear from Lexi even if it’s just for her to opt out of the surrogacy and ditch Roy. Surely we deserve more than a quick mumble on the phone, eh scriptwriters? I’d like to think the days of unfinished story lines are behind us, but maybe l’m being over optimistic......

cheminotte · 05/10/2018 18:36

Well I’m sure we can think of several

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2018 19:17

Hmm. I get the feeling Elizabeth is going to find out that Freddie is far less vulnerable than she thinks.

BertrandRussell · 05/10/2018 19:25

Chris isn't young, but she is fit and well and active. She should recover quite quickly from a hip replacement surely?

LassWiADelicateAir · 05/10/2018 20:05

Am I the only person who likes Christine? She is much nicer than either Jill or Peggy.

BertrandRussell · 05/10/2018 20:16

I like Christine. But I like Peggy too. And Jill. I think they are well written characters with human flaws.
