Helen's new love interest? Not Emma's, I hope. Given that he was given a voice, it seems virtually certain that he's got to be somebody's love interest.

Speaking of people who have a voice bit we haven't heard from in a while, I'd love to have Carol and Anna Tregorran back, especially Anna, she was a good character.

That - I can live with. It’s the provision of complex and intriguing backstories for people who only appear a handful of times that I find screamingly frustrating. Anna was one such. And I’m still not over Paul’s family ...

I suspect it's the SWs' belated acknowledgement that it's totally unrealistic to suggest he would have been left unaffected. So we're going to have a few episodes of Helen angsting about how she's ruined his life, probably followed by a miracle cure - until he grows up and they decide they want some hefty sibling rivalry between him and Jack.

If the complaint is from another student, Russ is never going to admit it to Lily. Ooh, unless he's going to say she's a dreadful liar, he would never do such a thing, oh, wait ....

Ah, but how about this for a delicious scene: (I've invented a name for the sake of the script)

Principal of the college: Lily, thanks for coming in. I'm afraid something serious has come up concerning Russ and I need you to answer a few questions as best you can.

Lily: of course, but-

Principal: Russ has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, and I need to establish the truth.

Lily: No, it's not like that. It's --

Principal: Not like what? Just cast your mind back. Did you ever see Russ getting close to Bella Jones?

Lily: What? Bella... What?!

Principal: Bella was seen getting into Russ's car on a number of occasions. Do you know where they were going?

Lily: .... Russ must... must have been giving her a lift home?

Principal: Maybe, but they were also seen at an art gallery together. Did Bella ever mention that to you?

Perhaps Lily decides to take the by the horns and goes to see the principal to defend Russ, saying it was all her fault, etc., etc. - only to be told that the 'allegation' doesn't involve her. If so, I suppose confidentiality would mean the principal couldn't disclose to Lily what/who the complaint does concern. But Lily would know Russ had been accused of SOMETHING, and that might cloud her rose-tinted specs?

Alcina - I like your scenario even better because it would make the fall even harder. (I wouldn't wish it on a real Lily, but for the sake of the drama, it would be satisfying).

Yes, I know my dialogue is a bit contrived, and the Principal wouldn't divulge so much about a named student to another student, but these kind of considerations never stop the actual SWs...

I'm not sure that a 7 yr. old would be able to articulate his feelings in the way that Henry has about the Karate class. He might not want to do it, that bit is more believable.

I missed a lot of the Archers during August/early September, including some ooh what was said at that point scenes - Elizabeth learning about Lily and Russ for example. So I've been trying to catch up on the omnibus editions while getting ready in the morning, though I have also heard some current episodes too. So if I listen to the next omnibus edition as it's broadcast on Sunday without falling asleep I will be up to date and can then listen to each new episode at 7 pm/in the next morning online/and at 2 pm.

Aaarrrrrrrrggggggghhh at Russ. Hoping for a face to face confrontation between Kenton and Russ - but should Lily and/or Elizabeth be there or should Kenton get to beat up R on his own? Thoughts?

I got the impression from Lily's reaction when Russ told her that he had actually left his wife , which was far from positive, (Lizzie guessed it correctly) that if given time, it would all fizzle out eventually. Russ has forced her hand and now the romantic stupid dream is coming true, she doesn't really want it to Ooops

ppeatfruit - I sensed that too, and it shows some good writing and acting if that is what they are trying to convey: that when Lily talks to Lizzie or Phoebe about how it will work with Russ in Manchester the person she is most trying to convince is herself.

I was going to predict things about their relationship but should that be on the spoiler thread? Are we allowed to imagine the future on this thread?
