I’m hoping it’ll be a case of this being the mistake name - before Pip changes her mind and realises the sense in Toby’s suggestion.

Anyway. Actual real life, no-deal-Brexit stockpiling was just being discussed on Today. I’m wondering how soon/long it will be before the SWs have to change all their plans and start requisitioning the barns and warehouses of Ambridge. And making farming people talk about it.

Toby's suggestion of shortening Juniper to June means in years to come everyone will assume Pip was hooked on The Handmaid's Tale, just like all those forty-somethings who are called Demelza.

There was a song called Jennifer Juniper, wasn't there? Perhaps they should go for that.

I quite like that Ruth has chosen Nana and not Granny, even though it is Granny all the way in my family. It was Granny Heather though, so I wonder where that came from?

I suspect that was an impromptu titling from a particular SW. It does sound rather unlikely for Brookfield though. (The people I know who are exactly like these Archers would definitely say Granny.)

Caught the afternoon slot again and quite shocked at how rudely Pip railroaded Toby over the name.

I heard that differently, DarkandStormy. I imagined a million conversations about the name over the last few months, with Toby ever single time saying 'What about Juniper, it would be such a good advert for the gin' and Pip saying no, politely at first after a pretence of considering it, but now just NO WAY (which anywhere but R4 would have another word inserted in the middle there ).

Fair enough.... but I didn’t hear Pip trying to find a fairbrother name.

I heard it as the name had been agreed already and Toby was being a bit jokey and cheeky with Pip (bleurgh!!!). I really, really hate Pip and David's whole "I'll do it Toby" bit. Toby is the dad! Oh and Rosie and Ruth are both cute but together are a bit grim (and Pip centred)

I briefly liked Juniper until Toby said ‘June for short’. I’m afraid you cannot call someone June when their birthday is in July!!!

Am more and more convinced that Lily will not be proceeding in an orderly fashion to university this year. Such a strangely scripted conversation with Phoebe - with no actual universities mentioned! No one talks like that - not even in TA.
