Sorry about the title, nothing particularly inspiring in the storylines currently Sad

No spoilers please, there’s a thread for that.

OP posts:

Also, what’s happened to Lexi and the next around of Adams er donation? It failed. Adam broke the news to Jennifer.

what, the second round? when did that happen, I thought it was just the first.

MrsGrindah · 26/07/2018 22:06

We missed the second round? Well how on earth did he fit that in between all the family meetings?

MereDintofPandiculation · 26/07/2018 22:23

what, the second round? when did that happen, I thought it was just the first. Dunno, but the first failed ages ago. The test for the second was yesterday.

MrsGrindah · 26/07/2018 22:31

Ah.. my post was before tonight’s episode in which it is revealed second round was a failure. Phew. I can sleep tonight.

GnotherGnu · 27/07/2018 08:10

I suspect Lily is going to find out that Russ plans to live off her trust fund. He will then nobly decide to stay with his wife when he discovers that Lily won't be keeping him in luxury.

R4 · 27/07/2018 09:04

Or Lily finds out that there is no Mrs Russ. Although proving a negative is difficult.

Was it Thursday that Anisha was leaving? Did she go without a 'goodbye' scene. Perhaps they couldn't find any villagers to shed a tear.

GnotherGnu · 27/07/2018 10:22

Radio 4 is still being very coy in its listing of tonight's episode and refusing to give so much as a hint. Are we going to SATTC again?

MikeUniformMike · 27/07/2018 10:34

Don't get your hopes up, but generally Friday's episode is the best of the week.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 27/07/2018 12:45

I predict an entire episode of topical inserts.. they are probably recording right now.

TheMadGardener · 27/07/2018 14:20

Or she might find out that Mrs Russ is pregnant?? (Not a spoiler, just guessing)

TheMadGardener · 27/07/2018 14:21

If I was Phoebe I would tell Elizabeth about Lily.

KitchenFloor · 27/07/2018 14:56

Or Lily'll go out and see Mr & Mrs Russ somewhere together? Happy as Larry together?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/07/2018 16:35

I hope you're right, KitchenFloor. I want Lily to come to her senses and move on toot sweet. Stupid young person. Her mother's moral sense has not always been beyond reproach, of course (the affair with Roy! that incensed me because of Hayley and the children). I wonder how that has left Phoebe's relationship with Elizabeth.

I also want Freddie to get his comeuppance. The fall of the House of Pargeter! Bring it on.

C8H10N4O2 · 27/07/2018 16:43

the affair with Roy! that incensed me because of Hayley and the children

Roy was the married man not Elizabeth.

Yes she was wrong/made a bad judgement but it was also her who fairly rapidly put and end to it. It was the good married man with children who kept chasing her to continue the affair.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/07/2018 16:56

Oh yes, he was even worse, but he was her employee and so was Hayley! Hayley was the twins' nanny when they were little and had worked for Elizabeth for years and years by the time of the affair. She'd been an absolute rock after Nigel died. A dreadful betrayal.

C8H10N4O2 · 27/07/2018 17:02

A dreadful betrayal.

Roy made all the running to a woman who was frankly lonely in some respects since Nigel died. He then persisted when she said no.

The dreadful betrayal was Roy's. He wasn't bereaved, nor was he feeling subservient and vulnerable in his job.

Elizabeth should have been stronger and said "no" but of the two, Roy carries the most responsibility.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/07/2018 17:04

Yes, I agree, but Elizabeth was far from blameless.

TigerTeatimes · 27/07/2018 19:10

Sorry for the graphic vocabulary enriching Pear Pip brings the worst out in me.

Does anyone else think the children are having a harder time with the house sale concept than Jennifer? Everyone keeps saying they mustn't do it for her, delay it for her, but she's being practical and they're all dragging their feet. Don't think it will happen but still.

Fink · 27/07/2018 19:13

Oh my word, did Toby actually wake up a contentedly sleeping baby just so that an adult could feel better?! He doesn't have a clue.

Peartree17 · 27/07/2018 20:02

If I was Phoebe I would tell Elizabeth about Lily.

Ouch. Lily is an adult. A rather deluded one, but an adult nonetheless. What could Phoebe hope to achieve by breaking Lily's confidence? Lily would feel even more the embattled and misunderstood romantic heroine and cling harder to Russ. I wouldn't trust Elizabeth to use the knowledge to sit back and bide her time and wait for the inevitable messy break-up so she could step in calmly and support her daughter; she'd certainly confront Lily and look where that approach has got Freddie in making his sister see sense.

LetticeFortescue · 27/07/2018 20:08

Do we know what Alastair was up to last night?

Gruach · 27/07/2018 20:13

I thought he was trying to tell her he had been gambling again.

BertrandRussell · 27/07/2018 20:14

He was going to tell Shula what he was doing but she wouldn’t listen. He said something about “slipping up”......

GnotherGnu · 27/07/2018 20:26

Radio 4 is still being very coy in its listing of tonight's episode and refusing to give so much as a hint. Are we going to SATTC again?

Well, I certainly got that one wrong. What a damp squib. Why on earth carry on being coy when we've known about Robin turning up for days?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/07/2018 20:34

Yes, I was gutted that it was such a damp squib! I'd started to convince myself that Anisha's horsebox was going to be in a crash or something . Can't for the life of me fathom why there was no spoiler for tonight.
