So it’s taken a sad, untimely death to bring me out of retirement. How I have missed you all Flowers

What a bore the Dopeys are. I don't suppose a glider crash is realistic

Oh be still my beating heart.

When they're doing these major storylines (especially the educational ones) we need more Linda, Jim, Jolene etc just keeping the world ticking over.

Yes you have neatly put a finger on why I find it all so irritating atm. It feels like poor plot planning or an attempt to shoehorn too much drahma into a short period of time. The latter is what turns me of most soaps because it can't be maintained and so escalates to ever more ridiculous stories. It also loses a lot of the fun stuff

For the topical inserts they use people already scheduled to be in the studio don’t they? So if normal recording has been curtailed then that might explain it. Maybe tonight?

Thinking about Rock's point, I would like to suggest
"One too many stories you've told
One too many turns out on the road - more confusion comes to Ambridge"
as the next thread title Grin

Will’s actor is so doing really well at the moment.

His grief comes across as very realistic & matches how I felt when my mother died before her time. Mixture of anger, guilt & confusion. Poor Joe though.

Just wondering what Will will do when he sees Brian- I imagine he’ll lash out at him too.

It’s very true about the drama-overload.

And of course Nic’s death will be on Feedback this afternoon. (Link may be very slow but does work.)

Is there a title consensus? I’m a little apprehensive now Grin

Agree re drama overload. Am I alone in finding Nic’s death much more gripping and realistically portrayed (Ed’s words of support after Will’s outburst at Joe brought a tear to my eye) than the land contamination which feels like another rehash of the Bridge Farm Ecoli and the Brookfield IBR - both dramatic storms in a teacup which fizzled out and were neatly erased by the Ambridge fairy to leave no lasting effects. Jenny has predictably already got over her fury with Brian, a fall-out with Alice has almost certainly been avoided because Brian has agreed to invest in the tech anyway - I find the BL machinations tedious beyond belief (not remotely interested in Annabelle and Martin or whatever their names are). The shifting relationships and changes in fortune between the Grundies are endlessly fascinating however - you’d need a heart of stone not to feel for Will at the moment. The fact that he has previously been portrayed so unsympathetically makes it all the more interesting in my opinion. The guilt he feels over Nic’s death, the fact that he unknowingly stepped out of the room for her final moments are all too realistic - even if you don’t like him you can feel his pain.

Re titles can we have It should have been Pip - even Ruth says she can afford to lose her

PseudoBadger · 02/03/2018 11:38

“We never thought we’d feel sorry for Will. Although it should have been Pip! Discuss The Archers here”
