So it’s taken a sad, untimely death to bring me out of retirement. How I have missed you all Flowers

I'm with you MrsGrindah to be honest. I certainly thought more people would sound a bit more shocked, disbelieving.

crossparsley · 28/02/2018 19:14

Snuper: Could it be anything to do with Poppy's parentage?

hoohoo! Poppy is EDDIE'S. Grundy-loving women are like meerkats. And lucky Poppy gets a very nice grandma. Worth a shot?

crossparsley · 28/02/2018 19:16

oops, she already has a very nice grandma. Now a coincidentally equally lovely DSM.

campion · 28/02/2018 19:16

Just a thought. As and when Lexi is 'with child', will anyone actually check the parentage? I cant see Roy holding off for very long.

No contraception is foolproof. Especially in Ambridge where planned pregnancies are unusual.

Actually, that doesn't bode well for Lexi.

Supplementary question. Has Lexi been, hitherto, undernourished?

And has Jennifer lost her marbles completely?

MrsGrindah · 28/02/2018 19:22

Why does everyone tolerate Jennifer’s constant interfering? And I think all those references to Roy’s sexual frustrations were supposed to be funny but it just left me feeling faintly queasy!

Hendricks15 · 28/02/2018 19:25

God that was nauseating. Venison pasty anyone?

NorthernLurker · 28/02/2018 19:39

Talk about tmi! I really could do without hearing about Adams sperm count and Roy's sexual appetites.

R4 · 28/02/2018 19:42

But the dinner party conversation never mentioned Nic ...? Confused

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/02/2018 19:46

I tuned out when JD was wittering on and can't bear to LA. I heard something about salmon and venison pasties. What did she say about Roy's sexual appetites?

echt · 28/02/2018 19:52

Bleurrgh. All that coy shite, bragging about Adam's sperm count.

And yes, no mention of Nic, and you'd think it would be a hot topic, if only for Jennifer to tell Lexi to be careful to look after any cuts and grazes.

MrsGrindah · 28/02/2018 20:06

Bore it was a lot of innocent comments but sounded like innuendo because they related to an earlier scene about a failed attempt by Roy to have sex with Lexi....well full sex if you really want to know... which you don’t ...BECAUSE NOBODY DOES!

BertrandRussell · 28/02/2018 20:19

Utterly ridiculous episode. Jennifer isn't a compete idiot!

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/02/2018 20:55

Thanks MrsGrindah. Sounds like 50 Shades of Ambridge.

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/02/2018 21:09

And has Jennifer lost her marbles completely? Yes. She sounded demented.

Oh fgs all the double entendres "vanilla" "hot and spicy" " hearty appetite"

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/02/2018 21:12

It should have been Pip...

Cruel but accurate.

BertrandRussell · 28/02/2018 21:14

Nothing came out of that episode at all. Absurd.

BikingBeatrix · 28/02/2018 21:41

Francis, l appreciate the bulletin about Gt Junction St. Smile But was that on foot or in a vehicle?! The winter we left Edinburgh there was one day of really snow - trying to work it out - Dec 2000. l don’t recall any deep snow in the previous 20 years. Here we haven’t as much - we are sort of in the middle of Scotland in west Perthshire. It‘s been light and intermittent all day but is now lying. Luckily we can all stay in tomorrow.

Re-TA, with excellent timing dh spoke to our nephew in the West Midlands today. He described it as snowing for the last 4 days but only one flake at a time. Grin l think Will actor is doing okay as the grieving youngish man. Clarrie is good too. Home Farm news has gripped me so thoroughly that I‘d be perfectly happy if they just fastforwarded 3 years and told us the whole story now.

Bekabeech · 28/02/2018 22:31

Re grief: when my mum died I didn't really cry for days, just felt very numb and got on with things. About 4 days a florist stressed me out and I burst into tears, my DH (then my fiancé) sorted it all out for me.

People grieve in very different ways - my boss at the time would tell you I mainly broke things.

It was almost insulting to listeners. Nic died tragically but here is some saucy seaside postcard comic relief.

The panto rehearsal that went wrong episode was genuinely funny and was a pleasant relief (from what I can't recall, probably Pip) but this was dreadful.

EBearhug · 01/03/2018 00:13

They often have unimportant episodes mid-week. This is no different.

BertrandRussell · 01/03/2018 06:59

“They often have unimportant episodes mid-week. This is no different“

That was more than unimportant. It was insulting. And Jennifer- whose job it is to be a good hostess- just wouldn’t have behaved like that. She sounded positively unhinged.

GnotherGnu · 01/03/2018 08:21

Could Jennifer be fixating on Lexie to avoid thinking about the pollution problem? Lexie must have the patience of a saint, in her shoes I'd have told Jennifer to fuck off with her food offerings long ago.

Do we know why Lexie's stopped working at GG?

R4 · 01/03/2018 08:26

Lexi's job was only ever a three month fixed term contract, presumably to see GG over the Christmas period.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 01/03/2018 09:16

Did anyone else notice Alice's comment right at the end of the episode on Tuesday? Something like "If anyone tries to do such and such to me, I'll KILL them".

Unfortunately I can't LA as I'm out of the country but it sounded to me like a real pointer as to whatever it was that Nic whispered. That with Chris urging her to have a drink, I can't help but think it's a canny reference to whodunnit to Matt.
