So it’s taken a sad, untimely death to bring me out of retirement. How I have missed you all Flowers

Strokes, as in Caroline.

FrancesCrawford my listening was intermittent in 1985 which explains why I remembered the ditch, and that she died, but not the immediate survival and heart attack. (My listening has varied from intermittent to non-existent over the years - it's only recently that I've become regular.)

PicklingGherkins · 25/02/2018 16:17

I'm loving the spreadshits!!! 😂

PicklingGherkins · 25/02/2018 16:18

And this thread as a whole actually, very informative for a relatively new listener such as myself.

I think "OK" is a relative term there, Francis.

cheminotte · 25/02/2018 16:34

Don’t need to be so prickly Francis ! I genuinely had not spotted that it was a typo and was wondering if snowdrops were edible.
Probably illegal to pick snowdrops as they are wild flowers.

OuaisMaisBon · 25/02/2018 16:36

George Barford died suddenly, didn't he? But I can't remember when or of whay.

BikingBeatrix · 25/02/2018 16:36

Another common cause of death in middle aged men is during a jog! And that was Sid! He was in Oz, no? Btw l don’t care about being wrong. It goes with the territory in a long running story/soap. Nobody can hang onto every detail. When talking of Jamie‘s step parents, there‘s Jolene too. She was his step mother for a long time too.

OuaisMaisBon · 25/02/2018 16:36

*what, even, don't think he died of a surfeit of whey.

I‘d always thoughtJulia Pargetter had a stroke. But l might be mixing that up with her actress who did have a stroke.

Willyum was with George Barford when he collapsed, l think. It was another heart attack or stroke.

PicklingGherkins · 25/02/2018 16:42

I'm guessing cheminotte was trying to politely backtrack from pointing out your slightly amusing typo because of your brusque reply.

BikingBeatrix · 25/02/2018 16:44

Lucy Perks was in NZ. But Sid and Jolene went to Oz too. I think.Grin

LassWiADelicateAir · 25/02/2018 16:45

Whoever hit Matt must have had damage to their cars. Also, would Alice have left the hunt ball without Chris? But whyhaven‘t Chris/Alistair/Willyum noticed damage to vehicle?

Yes but Nic I would guess drove something cheap and cheerful like a Kia or a Seat which would be likely to be damaged. Shula and Alistair will drive 4×4 tanks and Alice probably where hitting Matt might do little damage.

I don't think joe was shocked by what she said tbh. But by the situation of a young person dying

Really? I don't get that at all.

MereDintofPandiculation · 25/02/2018 16:48

Ruth had a bad fall on Lakey Hill, while pregnant with Pip. But everything was ok. That's the saddest Archers related stuff I've heard in a good while. Sorry about spelling your name wrong upthread, Francis

BitOutOfPractice · 25/02/2018 16:59

Lass I think he was upset and discombobulated by the situation. He said he was upset by the fact that a young person should be facing what nick was facing when he's so old. It can't havd been east for him, trying to reassure her.
