David: We can't just magic up a spare bedroom.

Listeners: Oh, yes you can. Smile

Imbroglio · 25/05/2017 20:07

Whatever is wrong with Ruth & David? Pip has a solution - they should embrace it and insist Pip pays her way at LL

I guess if josh was the one moving out they wouldn't have cared

The Brookfield sl is all a bit lame really

Fink · 25/05/2017 20:43

Saint Pip: 'it's ok, I don't want to sacrifice the family relationships for the sake of a bedroom ... I'll go slum it by freeloading at a stately home instead.'

TheAntiBoop · 25/05/2017 20:47

Who pays for her car?

I was hoping Josh would move out - focus on his business & leave them in the lurch with the farm work since he gets so little appreciation for his input compared to Pip.

I know he's obnoxious, but the day he couldn't help on the farm he didn't just dump them with extra work, he organised for Ed to do it, and paid him for it out of his own pocket. I thought that was a good solution that showed a level of maturity we never see from Pip, but all they did was have a go at him - I'm on Team Josh here!

Josh is a little sod but tbh you can't blame him given how he's treated. It would probably do him good to move out and away from the toxic environment.

Pip has no excuse for her self centred stroppiness.

JennyWoodentop · 25/05/2017 23:35

Do we know what happens about the inheritance of the farm? Is it split between Pip, Josh & Silent Ben, or does it go to Pip as the oldest golden child, future of Brookfield etc ?

If it goes to Pip, Josh has nothing to gain by hanging around, putting the work in for no thanks just constant criticism and being sidelined for whatever Pip wants. He should move out and either go to university out of town or build up his business and let them pay someone full market rates for the work they expected him to do.

BertrandRussell · 25/05/2017 23:38

As the continuity announcer said -Pip'll find the cuisine much better there. Or words to that effect.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2017 07:30

I know what he meant, but given that Jill does most of the cooking at Brookfield, I'm not so sure about that. I have the impression that Elizabeth and Frilly eat at the Orangery a lot. I bet Jill made the cheese and potato pie. That's something I haven't had for a long, long time. I think I had to make something like that in Domestic Science when i was 13. It was lovely. Mashed potato mixed with lots and lots of grated cheese, browned off in the oven with slices of tomato on top. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

(I'm Scottish. I have a lethal genetic attraction to carbs plus fat, as my non-existent waistline will attest.)

R4 · 26/05/2017 09:42

Who was the scriptwriter last night - Frilly talking to Elizabeth through the medium of mime or contemporary dance! ... magic extra bedrooms!!

I read something yesterday about Eastenders, apparently SOC isn't the golden child there at the moment.

birdsdestiny · 26/05/2017 12:59

Well if the MN thread on Eastenders is anything to go by they don't like the current regime at all, too much like a public service announcement apparently.

CeciledeVolanges · 26/05/2017 14:33

Cover up zips cock-up? (Yes, I am twelve)

ppeatfruit · 26/05/2017 14:51

Well I thought that ep. was good; Ruth was trying hard to be fair to Josh. Pip is moving out to be Lily's sister Grin ( I can imagine wanting to have a sister if I hadn't got one).

Only Dave didn't seem to realise that sibling rivalry is continuing with his and Kenton's relationship DUH.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2017 19:13

Big bowl of chilli! Grin

Imbroglio · 26/05/2017 19:44

Chilli... Wink

Fink · 26/05/2017 22:10

I LA on the iPlayer ... it ended mid-way through the editor's name so it genuinely sounded like Hugh Canoe. Grin

EBearhug · 27/05/2017 00:51

Big bowl of chilli!

And an early night.

ppeatfruit · 27/05/2017 17:20

Happy 60th Neil Grin I hope he managed to... ,ahem!

GrumpyOldBag · 27/05/2017 21:28

What with the nice weather & being quite busy with work I've hardly listened at all this week.

Doesn't seem like I've missed much ....
