Enjoy!

Does anyone think Miranda will flog Damara Dream to Matt's consortium and the nag will end up winning races in Costa Rica?

TheAntiBoop · 18/05/2017 21:59

Joe and Eddie have been showing their unpleasant side this week. Poor clarrie and Emma (and nature!)

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2017 22:41

So how much did Kenton lend Toby? It sounded from his conversation with David that it was loads............

Alleycat1 · 19/05/2017 07:28

I've been overseas for a few months and have missed loads by the sound of it. One thing puzzles me - Heatherpet left Ruth a shed load of money so how come R and D are now pleading poverty? What have they done with the inheritance?

EBearhug · 19/05/2017 07:48

It's all tied up in pensions and untouchable long-term investments. They did explain at one point. We all had the same question.

MrsArthurShappey · 19/05/2017 07:53

alleycat welcome back! This was explained, apparently they spent a bit but the rest is tied up financially somehow.

Alleycat1 · 19/05/2017 08:33

Ebear and MrsArthur, thank you. Now I just have to get used to all the new voices and try to work out who everyone is!

Dumdedumdedum · 19/05/2017 09:11

Wasn't £10,000 the figure being bandied about, Bert? I could easily be wrong as I have no interest in Tobeee's machinations, much as I enjoy gin Grin

LeninaCrowne · 19/05/2017 10:51

Is Toby just using the investment capital to live on?

BertrandRussell · 19/05/2017 11:49

So they just handed over 10K with no contract or anything?

birdsdestiny · 19/05/2017 12:29

Well they handed over David's money rather than their own so they probably weren't that worried.

MrsArthurShappey · 19/05/2017 12:54

I know it's been said before but Kenton and Toby are really very similar aren't they? It sounds like Kenton never really expected to pay back David's loan, ditto Toby and Pip's.

Minimammoth · 19/05/2017 14:12

I love that Eddie and Joe's ferret is called Adele Grin

Ceto · 19/05/2017 15:51

DD used to have a lizard called Adele. She liked the name after encountering it in Jane Eyre. Do you think that's Joe's source? Grin

Ceto · 19/05/2017 15:52

Anyone else wondering why Clarrie gets landed with sorting out Joe's toenails? If Eddie capable of clipping animal claws, surely he's capable of dealing with Joe's feet?

BertrandRussell · 19/05/2017 16:23

To be fair, if I had a choice between Clarrie cutting my toenails and Eddie cutting my toenails..........

Ceto · 19/05/2017 17:17

Well, yes. But I suspect that Clarrie would like to have the choice not to.

Ceto · 19/05/2017 17:20

I don't really understand Jolene's position re the gin investment. I can see it's absolutely in character for Kenton to decide to use David's money for this venture, but I would have expected Jolene to point out that it wasn't their money they were throwing away investing. In fact, I would have thought she'd have the sense to work out what a waste of space Toby is and that investing in anything involving him is essentially the same as putting the money on a bonfire.

TheAntiBoop · 19/05/2017 17:49

Money doesn't work like that to Kenton. I don't think he even considers that he needs to pay David back unless at his own convenience and after having been chased and chased

Cromwell1536 · 19/05/2017 18:12

Maybe Kenton just thinks its karma for the way (as he would see the matter) David led him on regarding the sale of Brookfield. So possibly a bit of secret smirk to himself as he witnessing David now struggling financially? Agree that it seems out of character for Jolene not to put the brakes on chucking money at the gin 'business'.

I quite enjoyed Miranda and Justin's trading last night.

Fink · 19/05/2017 19:15

What do you bet the vases turn out to be worth a fortune after all!

EsmesBees · 19/05/2017 19:21

I agree, Jolene is canny and experienced enough to see straight through a chancer like Toby.

echt · 19/05/2017 21:04

Comedy gold about the new cat. And a nice bit of intertextuality with the Hilda Ogden and Blofeld references. The the Lillian/Miranda standoff. I bet the SWs had whale of a time writing this one.

Gruach · 19/05/2017 21:19

It was rather good ... (As was your succinct critique echt.)

Definite BOOP.

LillianGish · 19/05/2017 23:32

Lillian's not going to stay with Justin is she? The shine's already wearing off - Miranda's just given voice to all Lilian's (and our misgivings) And the Dresden is there to symbolise her old relationship with Matt - which even Justin can see was just perfect from the expression on their faces. Lillian's trying to deny it and get rid of them, but Justin can see they're too good not to stay.
