"Oh FFS get a grip you silly woman...the kid made a mistake, "

Do you mean the adult professional farmer with a degree in agriculture who completely disregarded the basic rules of bio security which should be second nature, then continually lied and allowed other people to take the rap until driven into a corner where she had no choice but to own up? That "kid"?

Vango · 24/04/2017 18:41

I have a feeling you might be on your own with regard to your assessment of the current situation red Grin

Ceto · 24/04/2017 19:06

If (in David's view) it achieves nothing for people to know how useless Pip is, what does it achieve for them to think that he is useless?

Vango · 24/04/2017 19:17

Oh dear Lord. She's off the hook again. Josh will probably get it in the neck for something trivial in the next couple of weeks.

Gherkinsmummy · 24/04/2017 19:19

The mysterious new information that David doesn't want to talk about... how long before Ed says something and everyone puts two and two together?

Abraiid2 · 24/04/2017 19:26

Ed is very loyal and kind on the whole. Now if it had been Will, on the other hand...

TheAntiBoop · 24/04/2017 19:33

It's the downside of nespotism that your child might not be very good. Not sure why pip is the chosen offspring. What if Ben turns out to be a stonkingly great farmer? They have to end up with one decent child surely?

yikesanotherbooboo · 24/04/2017 20:23

I'm not usually in Ruth's camp but I really understand her feelings here and I would take more than a few days to start to forgive my DD in the same scenario .Why are Jill and David pressurising her ... I think her upset is valid... of course she will forgive the Golden Child but the scales have slipped from her eyes.

DadDadDad · 24/04/2017 20:33

As light relief, is it just me grinning at Lillian's teasing: "the look on your face, Brian"? Hearing her cackle is a real tonic. Grin

I still find the whole treatment of Miranda very shabby. Angry

On the upside DDD, she's far better off without him. I'm glad a decision has at least been made. She deserves better than a cheating, disrespectful spouse. And they didn't exactly spend much time together!

Vango · 24/04/2017 20:44

*by that I mean that he won't be much of a loss to her, company-wise.

Eastpoint · 24/04/2017 20:45

I thought the whole 'Justin is so wonderful, I'm so happy' from Lilian suggests their imminent downfall.

Vango · 24/04/2017 20:46

I agree. Lillian's not in line for a 'Happy Ever After'. No good will come of it.

Abraiid2 · 24/04/2017 21:23

Hubris, hubris, Lillian.

Cromwell1536 · 24/04/2017 21:38

Yes, especially the line about 'ooh, I'd be happy being poor as church mice so long as we're togevvah." Is Miranda gonna strip him clean? (and if so, what do we feminetters think of that...?)

TheAntiBoop · 24/04/2017 21:46

the only way I can see this ending in poverty for Justin is if the money isn't there and it's all smoke and mirrors and will fall apart due to the divorce

But I doubt that.

What grounds has Miranda to take all the money? Even if she brought in the seed capital, Justin built up damara capital himself didn't he?

BertrandRussell · 24/04/2017 22:01

Miranda texted Justin during the engagement bash, didn't she? I wonder what that was about.

And I hope she does take him to the cleaners. They treated her like shit.

DadDadDad · 24/04/2017 22:05

Yes, I did feel there was slightly too much signalling that something bad is going to happen to Lillian and Justin - will Matt be the cause?

TheAntiBoop · 24/04/2017 22:10

Maybe he will send round the heavies and Justin will die of a heart attack before the divorce is final

DadDadDad · 24/04/2017 22:28

Come on, TheAntiBoop, surely that's way too far-fetched for TA (="The Aldridges" as the announcer cheekily called it at 7 this evening).

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2017 22:29

I'm thinking car crash due to someone speeding, and one or the other has life-changing injuries.

Oh dear though... the actual words 'Pip is the future of Brookfield' were said.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 24/04/2017 22:30

Can anyone explain something. None of the cows on the 3 farms were vaccinated so when Pip's cows got out they infected the others with iBR. So why aren't all 3 farms culpable for their own cattle? Surely if its easy enough tp pick up IBR because some cattle wander into your field then it is all too easy to pass on IBR in lots of other ways too. So the only safe way to avoid IBR is vaccination, surely?

And yes to Ed spilling the beans. He;ll say something to Tom alongs the line of, "I heard Brookfield are compensating you. Too right after Pip let the herd escape."

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2017 23:04

A quick google suggests that the vaccines only give protection for 4-6months, and presumably are expensive for a herd. So if you and your neighbours practice good biosecurity, get stock free of the disease - which is what they all seemed to do, bar David's lapse - then it wouldn't make sense.

EmilyDickinson · 25/04/2017 00:05

Are they signalling Justin's imminent demise? Miranda would get everything. They're not divorced and Justin hasn't mentioned (nor had time to) making a new will. Lillian will have just spent loads of money doing up the house and be relatively penniless. Brian had better lock up the drinks cabinet again.
