Matt will say that he had to disappear for 'business reasons' and to make it convincing he couldn't tell Lillian and had to leave her up shit creek. And of course she should have known that he would never really have been gone for good. And all that nastiness is behind him now so he's back, with all of her money and possessions.

But can she possibly still love Matt? After what he did to her & his loooooong silence?

She was certainly feeling very warm towards Justin today.

She invested it in the gin business. There's been cleaning it up, getting its safety certificate, costs of getting the licencing, whatever he paid for the still (did he get it for free from a mate in Brighton?), ingredients...

Plus he's Toby. I'm not expecting to see Pip get a penny back, but I could be wrong.

I'm not keen on Matt but he was a good character. His exit was crap so if the intention is for him to disappear again I am trusting hugh to do it properly!!

The whole Justin and his parents guff is annoying. Best scenario is the pair of them push off!! But in terms of entertainment I would rather keep Matt.

I wonder if DDD would do a survey? Do those who like Matt also like Ian? (it's a 'yes' from me). It's interesting how we all perceive them differently! In terms of 'creepy slime ball' I'd say Justin could give Matt more than a run for his money. And 'eager, wounded puppy' Justin is almost more difficult to listen to than heartless, cheating, rapist-employing' Justin.

Justin has gone from head of a business empire and wanting more at all costs - to doddery old man who wants to settle down to retirement.

I like Matt as a character but he isn't pleasant. I don't mind Ian but he's a bit bland.

David isn't that loaded, is he? I doubt Heather's bequest was that massive, and he was complaining how paying for vaccine when the milk yield is low was putting a strain on their finances.

I'm definitely NOT TeamMat - he's a criminal, and has tested Lillian abominably.
