I heard a great quotation on Woman's Hour this morning. They were talking about an unfortunate situation arising out of human actions and a charity that was trying to deal with it. The charity was trying to encourage people not to compound the problem with further actions (like Pip with her lie upon lie) and their slogan is "one sin is better than two".

I wonder if Ed doesn't like the idea of nights due to his own childhood. I worked nights when my children were small, and about 10 years ago was considering going back to it. Ds3 - then about 10 - was adamant I should do 'no more night shifts'. I had no idea it had had that effect on him. It was awful actually.
