Very sad about new Chris. Old Chris actor was originally from our area and immortalised in a book which was inspired by our house (before we lived here). I feel that one of my links to Ambridge has been severed.

Well, Gruach, you may well feel that he should be related to someone already in the cast, or to a well-known thespian, but shockingly I've found no evidence of any such connection so far.

Why has Jill's cossie gone see-thru?

It can happen with old cossies, especially if they're cheap. The lycra gives out, and you're left with sheer material which goes see through.

I speak with the voice of experience, though mine mostly only went round the cleavage and lower back, not totally see-through. And I have more than one swimming costume, on account of a dislike of getting into a cold, damp cossie if I am swimming frequently.

I don't think I've ever come across a costume that doesn't have not extra gusset and many have a supportive panel across the bust, so the chances of it being really revealing where you'd least like it are very low.

I can't remember how Old Chris sounded, just that he was meant to be all hunky and sexy, either manhandling big horses or throwing Alice around. New Chris the bumpkin doesn't sound remotely sexy!

Phillip, Chris, Harrison and doc Locke (and a bit Alan) sound similar in timbre as said upthread. I found Chris and Harrison difficult to tell apart despite the different accents

It's annoying. Old Chris was clearly, over time, going to sound more and more like his Ambridge-Royalty wife. Impossible that that could happen with the new one.

And he absolutely does not sound like a man who would have joined Alice in an impulsive LA (was it?) wedding. This one would have wanted the full barn dance, extended family and homemade cake experience. Weird casting choice.
