I probably had the Baby Names threads in mind ppeat! Easy to spell/phonetic, not easily shortened, not made up etc etc Grin. My own children weren't so lucky!

TheAntiBoop · 07/03/2017 18:17

I thought it was supposed to be Fanjo in a funny accent

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2017 19:12

Poor Kirsty. Sad

Vango · 07/03/2017 19:15

Well I, for one, thought that was brilliantly done. Sad

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2017 19:17

So did I. It made me a bit tearful (not that that's hard). Sad

A while back we had a tediously long discussion between Jolene and Lilian about how she would run a mile from anything serious, had exactly the relationship she wanted with excitement and no commitment etc.

We then have Miranda telling Lilian that she is just an older version of a long line of floosies and Justin always returns to her.

This evening we had Brian (as cheat par excellence) telling Adam how careless he thought Justin was being with Lilian, with Miranda around, how they might not see much of Justin for a while etc.

So plainly Justin is going to leave Miranda for Lilian and we will have much prolonged hilarity as she tries to detach from him but keep her job as he pursues her.

Miranda will then discover she can be entirely happy without him and ignore Justin's begging her to take him back after being rejected by Lilian.

Yes, those scenes between Kirsty and Fallon, and Kirsty and Helen, were excellent. The trouble is they really show up how poor Pip actor is.

cheminotte · 07/03/2017 21:19

Just followed Vango link and discovered them promoting World Challenge which is a shame.

JessieMcJessie · 07/03/2017 22:12

Had no idea what World Challenge was, have just looked at their site and seems a reasonable organisation- what's the issue?

Minimammoth · 08/03/2017 06:30

Have been dropped from threads I'm on for not posting, so here I am.
Not listened in ages, need to catch up.

cheminotte · 08/03/2017 06:49

Hi Jessie, don't want to derail this lovely thread, but basically World Challenge is an example of charity tourism. It sends well off first world people (often teenagers) to the 3rd world to build schools etc. Whereas those countries have builders, plumbers, decorators etc of their own who could do the job much better and and for a lot less money. There was a thread on here a while back which was really interesting.

ppeatfruit · 08/03/2017 08:32

Oh the irony of Adam and Brian's conversation, beautifully written, and well acted by Adam obviously trying desperately to withold his opinions about Brian's hypocritical stance on Lil's relationships, by mentioning his own bad behaviour!

ppeatfruit · 08/03/2017 08:34

There are very many people in RL who are exactly the same as Brian.

mummytime · 08/03/2017 11:10

I think last nights episode as a whole was very good. Nothing too dramatic, but really captured different people and their interactions. Kirsty and Jazzer, Brian and Jazzer, Brian and Adam, Jazzer and Fallon, Fallon and Kirtsty, and then Kirsty and Helen. And the depth of the sub-text in each interaction. And gossip! Very satisfying.

SingingAvocado · 08/03/2017 11:12

I thought most of yesterday's was very well written: a bit of farming (polytunnels), Jazzer (I do like him!), Fallon / Kirsty, Kirsty / Helen, Adam / Brian (pot calling the kettle black).

MrsArthurShappey · 08/03/2017 11:55

Also a bit of Brexit! It's Keri, he can usually be trusted.

Brian's hypocrisy was delicious wasn't it? He really does believe that there's nothing wrong with shagging around so long as you're discrete!

ppeatfruit · 08/03/2017 12:07

Cheminotte I find that sort of 'charity' a bit hard to take too. The native population would (I hope) be better placed to build ecologically soundly in their own countries too.

Not blindly copy the 'western' style. (Though I may be wrong of course).

SingingAvocado · 08/03/2017 12:20

messages crossed mummytime

TheAntiBoop · 08/03/2017 12:41

It's a profit making cookies no any too - so not much charity really.

TheAntiBoop · 08/03/2017 12:41

Company not cookies!!

mummytime · 08/03/2017 12:46

Oh yes I loved the Brexit bit!
And SingingAvocado - great minds...

I still find it hard to see Adam as pro brexit.

Gruach · 08/03/2017 19:14

Oh goodness! Just loving the motherly scolding of Lilian. Grin

DoctorTwo · 08/03/2017 19:18

I quite enjoyed that. 'Twas lovely to hear just farming and chit chat. I almost felt sorry for Lil though...
