Sad news about Caroline/Sarah.

Meanwhile Miranda is definitely one of those women who does a lot of air kissing from behind enormous dark glasses but doesn't actually have a single genuine friend. She could wither a stick of celery at 6 paces.

EsmesBees · 13/02/2017 13:50

Thanks for the new thread. You would have thought someone in Henry's life would have noticed that this is a pretty big thing to have gone through and he might need a touch more support.

Valentine's special from R4: a play about a romance between TA staff which the audience help to write live. Grin

Nice TA tribute to Sara (with some ancient history. I didn't know about the Great Dane!)

Fingalswave · 13/02/2017 16:12

Poor Kirsty she isn't having much luck what with being abandoned at the altar and now losing her baby. It seems so unfair, particularly after she has given so much help to others. I hope this doesn't make her want to escape the Archer family forever; she is too good a character to lose. Not sure about her marrying Roy though; I want her to be swept off her feet by a tall dark fitness trainer or feed merchant not Tom.

Yes, along with PPS, I am also confused as to why Justin would stay married to Miranda? She is so unmitigatingly awful. Does she have some sort of hold over him financially? Was it ever explained?

Also, why no mention at all of Ruuuaaaarriiieeee? Or have I missed something?

And yes, poor wee "al-wight" Henwee should have been seeing a child psychologist month's ago poor lad.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/02/2017 16:55

Very sad indeed to hear about Sara Coward. She was an established character when I started listening, which must be >35 years ago now. Caroline was such a good friend to Shula. I was sorry that Caroline and Oliver became such minor characters in the last few years, but now I understand that ill health may have had something to do with that, in recent months anyway. She will be greatly missed.

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

Sad news about Sara Coward. Sad

And, sad news about Kirsty. Haven't listened yet, but have a few minutes now.

PrincessFiorimonde · 13/02/2017 18:41

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

Sad news about Sara Coward.

Am very much looking forward to Jenny and Brian's dinner party. She does seem overly invested in Lil's affair - it's a good plot though as it's very hard to tell how much of it is because she's worried about Lilian and how much is because she's worried about how much it will reflect on her/damage Brian's reputation with Damara - I suspect poor Jenny doesn't know what she's most worried about either.

Big BOOP for Brian telling her how fabulous her parties are though.

BroomstickOfLove · 13/02/2017 18:58

I want nice things to happen at Bridge Farm. There has been too much bad luck there in recent years. Also, I am shamelessly place-marking.

Just take the money Clarrie!!

TheAntiBoop · 13/02/2017 19:11

I know it's hard listening but if they can do this sl right it could be really powerful. Might make it easier for some people to talk about it.

And her parents are coming to get her so she obviously does have a close relationship with them and isn't reliant on the archers

Sittinginthesun · 13/02/2017 19:29

I think Kirsty and Roy would be lovely.

Minimammoth · 13/02/2017 19:34

Better mark place. Still a no from me re Kirsty and Roy, she deserves better than a third time lucky relationship. Perhaps she'll meet a good woman.

wineapotamus · 13/02/2017 19:36

So devastating for Kirsty. And Tom too, I know he's effed up, but he does love her and was so excited about the baby. Bringing back lots of sad memories about my Mmc two years ago, especially weird as I've just sorted all baby grows out (I'm 36 weeks today). I really really hope Kirsty gets another crack at it. It's the worst thing leaving hospital and feeling like you've left them behind...

Oh god, keep it light. Looking fed to Lillian getting shitfaced and the party and saying/doing something hugely inappropriate.
Lillian = life goals...

DesolateWaist · 13/02/2017 19:40

Just caught up. Poor Kirsty.
How many weeks was she? I've only been half listening.

Vango · 13/02/2017 19:41

A 'no' from me too re. any possibility of a relationship with Roy. I'm glad they're good friends and I'd like it to stay that way.

Still not buying a 'close' relationship with her parents. Why weren't they at the hospital today? Did her mother actually tell Kirsty that she was missing her Zumba class? Kirsty is much closer to Pat and Tony in my opinion.

I thought tonight's episode was very carefully done. Showed all four of them in their very best light. I like that they're a close knit group of friends who've been through a lot together. Very sad.

wineapotamus · 13/02/2017 19:41

I think about 22...

echt · 13/02/2017 19:42

Nicely balanced episode, good acting all round. Not easy to do do sad, especially as the SWs have to rein in the "art" and have people express themselves in ordinary, clipped ways.

Another one looking toward to hearing Lillian's cackle.

umberellaonesie · 13/02/2017 19:45

Hiya. Can I join in.
The archers have been in my life from day dot.
I have recently converted a work colleague too.
(subtle place marking Blush)

Limer · 13/02/2017 19:56

RIP Sara Coward.

I love Kirsty ever since many years ago she said "Neville Booth?" in a horror-struck voice. No idea of the circumstances, possibly a Valentine's event at The Bull?

Vango · 13/02/2017 20:04

I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a Helen and Roy pairing.

Gallavich · 13/02/2017 20:07

Is kirsty going to run to Tom to get pregnant again or into the arms of Roy?
Sad storyline

BluePheasant · 13/02/2017 20:07

Haven't listened to last two episodes yet, going to catch up when DD has settled down. So sad to read what's happened, was feeling really optimistic about the idea of Kirsty and Tom working out how to be friends and parents.

I really hope Kirsty isn't going to move away again. Roy will look after her but I don't see anything more than friendship for them.

Poor Tom as well. He is hopeless in many ways but I think he would be a great dad Sad
