And she's perfectly entitled to say whatever she wants to Lillian too!

Vango · 07/03/2017 13:18

Actually, not only was Kirsty disgracefully rude to Miranda, but she was shockingly rude to the voucher customer she was speaking to on the phone in the background (while Miranda waited)...."if you could read it would be a start"!

BertrandRussell · 07/03/2017 13:23

Yes, Kirsty was extraordinarily rude. Another character transplant- she's super professionalA

ppeatfruit · 07/03/2017 13:26

Sorry Blush I don't think I heard that bit, I just heard Lynda talking about it to Kirsty. I thought that Kiirsty said that to Lynda about people not knowing they're born. I'll listen to the film this Sunday.

JessieMcJessie · 07/03/2017 13:27

I was really surprised at Shula commiserating with Lilian about Miranda's attack. First, I did not realise that Shula was aware of what was going on but perhaps more strikingly my impression of Shula is always as a straight-laced Christian type who would see an affair as immoral. I know that she did have the thing with Doc Locke when he was with Usha but I didn't have her down as someone completely accepting of adultery. I know she did ask Lilian why Justin, seeing as he was attached, but it sounded more like she was sorry for Lilian going after someone who was not free.

LillianGish · 07/03/2017 13:31

She was extremely rude - I thought it came from a place of thinking there were more important things to worry about in life than broken spin dryers. Not acceptable in a public facing role, but entirely understandable when you think what she's been though which is exactly why everyone has been suggesting she needs a bit of time off. A slightly clumsy depiction of how wanting to get back to normal and put everything behind you and actually being in the frame of mind to do so are two different things.

BertrandRussell · 07/03/2017 13:31

"I thought the way Pip sent her mother off to bed was very rude"

I just assumed it was late and Ruth had been in the calving shed all day...........

ppeatfruit · 07/03/2017 13:31

Yes I agree Jessie That was surprising.

SingingAvocado · 07/03/2017 13:33

Poor Roy got quite a telling off from Kirsty too …

I think the chat with Shula was a means to gettin the answer to the question about why Lillian was with Justin in the first place.

SingingAvocado · 07/03/2017 13:33

getting not gettin

Vango · 07/03/2017 13:37

I don't think it's necessarily a character transplant either Bertrand. Kirsty's always had it in her to say exactly what she thinks. Her problems are that she's not sleeping, she's recovering (physically and emotionally) from a traumatic event, she's possibly coming to the realisation that she doesn't value the work that she does and presumably re-evaluating her whole life. She doesn't want to go home to her parents, Tom (the person who knows her best) has just left, Roy and Lynda are being overly protective.........she's reeling!

Vango · 07/03/2017 13:42

I didn't know that Shula knew either! Though having lied to Harrison and pursued Dr Locke again more recently (last year?) she can't claim the moral high ground any more these days.

TheAntiBoop · 07/03/2017 13:58

I assumed she knew after the way she was with Miranda and anisha

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 14:46

I seem to remember a scene a little while back between Shula, Lilian & Justin where J informed L that M was coming back to Ambridge after all - she'd been going skiing, but something had happened to a third party?

And Shula said "oh that's a shame" (or words to that effect).

I was surprised at the time (had forgotten since) as I hadn't realised she knew about them.

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 14:54

It was the Boxing Day meet - too me ages to find it, I didn't realise it was that long ago.
How Shula knew about them I've no idea though

Vango · 07/03/2017 14:55

I remember that Low. The lodge had been 'impounded' or something like that. I took Shula's comment to mean 'that's a shame for Miranda' (holiday cancelled).

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 15:23

That's interesting, Vango (are you a tent btw? have often wanted to ask you Grin)

I definitely took it, at the time, as her sympathising with Lilian but might not have been paying 100% attention so could have missed something - they had been talking about their plans, so I must have assumed Shula had heard them.

TheAntiBoop · 07/03/2017 15:33

Yes I took it as a shame her holiday was spoilt and therefore having said the one thing the other two were also thinking but for different reasons!!

Vango · 07/03/2017 15:42

Am I a tent? Yes, I suppose I am. And totally lacking imagination when I signed up! ⛺️

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 16:08

Well they are Very Good Tents. So an excellent thing to be Smile

ppeatfruit · 07/03/2017 16:41

Sorry to be dense but what's a 'tent'? Besides being a cloth house of course !

Vango · 07/03/2017 16:44

Grin Not a euphemism ppeat! Just an actual make of tent, probably drying out around the kitchen when I was forced to choose a username!

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 16:45

It is just a cloth house Grin

LowDudgeon · 07/03/2017 16:47

Our last family tent was a Vango (we don't do family camping now the kids are all enormous) - they are really excellent tents if you ever need to buy one!

ppeatfruit · 07/03/2017 16:51

OKAY ! Can you tell I'm not up to speed with the modern tent manufacturers or even the old ones for that matter. I thought your user name was probably based on a Winnebago type of vehicle. Grin
