I'm pretty sure I heard Kirsty call Tom 'Roy' at one point. I'm going to have to LA tomorrow just in case I was mistaken.

Gruach · 13/02/2017 20:51

Very sad about Sara Coward. And awful to think we'll never hear Caroline's lovely voice again. Will really miss her.

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo. Star

redshoeblueshoe · 13/02/2017 21:00

Thanks for the new thread Psuedo Archers

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/02/2017 21:00

I wondered about Helen and Roy. That might work quite well.

Kirsty and Patrick? I have it at the back of my mind that Patrick might be gay, but have I imagined that? And has he ever spoken, or just been talked of?

I thought it was well done tonight.

TheAntiBoop · 13/02/2017 21:05

I'd like Kirsty to be a character in her own right - not as a mrs archer or as a pseudo archer family member.

Imbroglio · 13/02/2017 21:09

Really sad episode, strangely mixed up with Grange Farm shenanigans, FFS.

redshoeblueshoe · 13/02/2017 21:09

Lilly is in Doctors at the moment.

GypsyFl0ss · 13/02/2017 21:14

Vango I thought the same about Helen and Roy!

Eastpoint · 13/02/2017 21:16

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo.

I'm very sorry to learn about Sara Coward's death, she had a lovely voice.

SealSong · 13/02/2017 21:16

So sad for Kirsty, very well acted, made me cry. Thought Tom was good too.

ghostwatch · 13/02/2017 21:19

Very unexpected episode ! Poor Kirsty !

AuldHeathen · 13/02/2017 21:21

I'd be delighted if Kirsty's next child is healthy and grows with an interest in birds and church music.

MrsArthurShappey · 13/02/2017 21:23

Oh that was heartbreaking Sad. Kirsty seemed so numb, I hope she's going to be ok. It wasn't clear that she'd been to see the baby was it? She didn't want to to with Tom, which was understandable, but was that because it was with Tom or because she didn't want to see the baby?

The Grange Farm stuff was weird, a bit jarring.

Vango · 13/02/2017 21:24

The only (current) characters not connected to the Archers are Lynda and Robert. Without an Archers connection I can't see a role for Kirsty.

Gruach · 13/02/2017 21:37

Lynda and Robert are Archer grandparents!

Vango · 13/02/2017 21:43

Of course they are! I'd forgotten about James 😁!

TheAntiBoop · 13/02/2017 21:43

Roy?

Grundys?

Anisha?

Professional relationships don't count

Vango · 13/02/2017 21:49

I'd argue that professional relationships do count! Kirsty going it alone wouldn't even have that. And Roy's Tom's best friend and not-quite best man who married John's ex-girlfriend and had an affair with Elizabeth Archer.

MrsArthurShappey · 13/02/2017 21:53

...and is the father of Jenny Darling's granddaughter!

Vango · 13/02/2017 22:03

That too. Grin

Which is why the programme is 'The Archers' and not 'Ambridge'. Wink

If everyone is involved with an archer there always have to be newcomers

If Kirsty has a baby with Patrick then that child can potentially have a riotous teenager hood with Jack

Vango · 13/02/2017 22:24

The only small point I was trying to make is that characters generally don't have storylines that aren't connected in some way to the Archer family. Even Bert's loss of Freda was handled while he was living at Brookfield. His most recent appearance was giving advice to Adam. Alan is the Vicar, a defined role. Oliver is connected to Shula (his wife's best friend) via the hunt. What could Kirsty contribute without a connection to the Archers, however tenuous. She'd only go the way of Kathy eventually.
