I know the Grundys appear to be there to be comedy working class oiks, but I really hate the way Eddie treats Clary. If this was Rob/Helen, we would be treating his bullying of Clarrie over the Air BnB thing as abuse. He's lied to her about Oliver and Caroline's supposed permission, he's arm-twisting out of her bedroom and ensuite, lied again about taking on any of the work - cooking, tidying cleaning - that will ensue from doing b&b - we know that's bullshit. And she's had years and years of his awful get-rich-quick schemes.

I hate it! Usually I hate these plotlines because they're so excruciatingly awful and totally unfunny but now I'm hating it coz he's always really really horrible and lying repeatedly to poor Clarrie. It's never funny for her is it?

Hillfarmer · 24/02/2017 14:30

Sorry. Clarrie - spelling all over the place.

TheAntiBoop · 24/02/2017 14:45

Agree that she always ends up worse off but it's ok because 'that's eddie'

Clarrie deeply sighs a lot because she is always doing stuff she never agreed to!

Megatherium · 24/02/2017 15:55

Why did Elizabeth want to queue up to thank the Maths teacher? Has she not heard of emails or the post?

Megatherium · 24/02/2017 15:57

Am I right in thinking you can't just set up as a B&B overnight and that there are all sorts of environmental health and H&S hurdles to overcome first? Is it too much to hope for that the SWs might recognise that?

Vango · 24/02/2017 16:18

I don't think there are any particular regulations if you're advertising Air BnB Mega, though there's a limit to the number of nights per year that a property/room can be rented. Yes, I believe you can just set up overnight.

JessieMcJessie · 24/02/2017 16:37

Yes, Mega the storyline is no doubt inspired by the explosion in Air BnB letting and the conflict that creates with hotels and traditional Band Bs. If this were not the BBC Eddie would be saying " air BnB" not just referring vaguely to "advertising online".

Vango · 24/02/2017 16:52

Anyone listening to Feedback? Tim Watson sounds different to Rob!

GrumpyOldBag · 24/02/2017 17:04

Yep I also assumed Eddie means Air BnB when he talks about 'online'.

I didn't think Kenton could be quite so stupid about the school parents' evening.

cheminotte · 24/02/2017 18:34

Going back to Harrison's failure to convince the cricket team: he did seek Linda's advice but then ignored it!

Gruach · 24/02/2017 19:11

This pensioner slavery at Brookfield really is too much now!

ovenisdrivingmecrazy · 24/02/2017 19:17

I am going to try and get "furtive fumbles" in to every conversation I have this weekend...

DesolateWaist · 24/02/2017 19:18

Oh Lordy. She stood there and had a conversation as he put his trousers on too!

polyhymnia · 24/02/2017 19:28

Didn't hear it. Who are these fumbling people??

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/02/2017 19:33

Lilian and Justin, discovered in flagrante by Jennifer. Shock Blush Envy

Eurghhhhhhhhhhhh.

glowfrog · 24/02/2017 19:45

Hillfarmer I really, really don't like the Grundys. But I love Clarrie, she's lovely and way too good for them.

Gruach · 24/02/2017 19:53

To be honest I didn't really believe that Jenny would be so shocked, nor Lilian so schoolgirlishly apologetic - but still ...

Hillfarmer · 24/02/2017 19:54

Yeah glowfrog . I heart Clarrie - she deserves better than this. I wish she'd LTB.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/02/2017 19:56

I don't think Jenny was shocked so much as outraged. She tolerates Lilian's behaviour as long as she doesn't have her nose rubbed in it. That's actually perfectly consistent with how she used to cope with Brian's infidelities. Sad

Lilian knows this and she also knows she crossed a line.

It does bother me that nobody seems to care about Miranda. I don't take to Miranda, but she really has the fuzzy end of the lollipop, doesn't she?

I re-wound that scene. You can hear Justin zipping up his trousers :o

Vango · 24/02/2017 20:37

I still can't quite believe that Jenny hasn't reminded Lillian that she used to be 'Miranda' and that Lil's behaviour is painful to witness. And, bloody hell, Justin is BRAZEN!
