What do we want?
Realistic storylines!
When do we want them?
As soon as the writers see this!

OP posts:

I'd really like to see it all plotted out on a map, I think someone in my family used to have a map of Ambridge but no longer. The ones I can find online don't have enough detail.

Fink · 04/02/2017 23:19

X post with Errol. I don't think that was what we had at home though, the one I remember was more kitsch looking, less real mappy.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 00:24

Listened again earlier. Did Josh say "shit"?

ThatsNotMyToddler · 05/02/2017 06:29

I thought he said 'jeez' peace

GypsyFl0ss · 05/02/2017 07:25

I thought he said shit but I haven't listened again to check.

Efferlunt · 05/02/2017 08:39

Hold on. Rob and Helen speeding away from Bridge Farm, blocked by falling tree. Pat and Kirsty driving towards Bridge Farm, blocked in the same direction by the same falling tree. How does that work then? Surely they should have been on opposite sides of the tree?

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2017 08:52

Pat and kirsty might have been the other side of the tree, I suppose - one of them said 'thats robs car', if they'd been on the same side it would have been behind Helen's. A tree big enough to block a car wouldn't necessarily be too hard for them to scramble over.

CeciledeVolanges · 05/02/2017 09:06

I would have said perhaps it was the crown of the tree which was blocking the road and K and P could see through the branches, but it sounded like Rob's car was blocked in by theirs. But didn't Pat go to visit Kirsty, so they were going towards Bridge Farm, and Helen was picking Henry up from school?

IgrainePendragon · 05/02/2017 09:06

Hi all

I hope you don't mind me dropping in with a request. I listen to the podcast of the omnibus edition- great for dog walks. However I am often a bit behind the current episodes.

Could I ask you please not to put spoilers in the thread title. It sometimes crops up on active conversations and I see it without meaning to. As far as I am concerned Rob is still missing! I found out about Kirsty's pregnancy that way too.

Thanks and happy listening

selsigfach · 05/02/2017 09:22

I don't think you can expect that, Igraine, nor, as others have asked, for us to not discuss broadcast material until you have caught up. If you're behind and don't want a 'spoiler', why look on here? Of course we'll all be discussing what has just happened.

Finbar · 05/02/2017 09:23

I think you can hide topic areas from sight if you wish

TheAntiBoop · 05/02/2017 09:26

Agree that pat was other side of the tree

The inconsistency for me is that josh was supposedly going to bridge farm and therefore shouldn't have been going on the same direction as rob

And I think he said shit as well. Should he have been on his phone whilst driving?

IgrainePendragon · 05/02/2017 09:30

Good point Finbar, I'd forgotten about hide topic and will do that.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2017 09:52

think he said shit as well.
seems like the sort of word which would come readily to a young farmer's lips, why wouldn't he?Confused I'm also unclear where he was going from and to though.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 10:07

Well I thought there were rules about swearing and the watershed, that's all. I'm not pearl-clutching!

Vango · 05/02/2017 10:22

There's no watershed on the radio.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2017 10:45

There's no watershed, tbh I'd hardly classify 'shit' as a swearword, and in a storyline about rape and kidnapping a baby it seems a slightly strange thing for a couple of people to have noticed let alone commented on. Grin

Phoning while driving though - yeah, unlikely a teenager's banger would have handsfree I'd have thought.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2017 10:49

Reading that back...my amusement is at the details we (self included) discuss on these threads, not the storyline!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 10:50

I didn't realise there wasn't a watershed on the radio! How interesting.

Gruach · 05/02/2017 10:51

You obviously don't listen to daytime radio peace!Grin

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 10:51

It's coming up soon on the omnibus so will listen out

IAmNotAUserNumber · 05/02/2017 10:52

Selsgifach Helen has made poor choices at times but with whom would her children be better off living with, if not their own Mother? Social Services would be (even more) inundated if they took into care every child whose parents parented at or below Helen's standards - and there's already a national shortage of foster parents.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 10:52

I used to, before daytime entertainment became CBeebies. Now I listen on catch up in bed.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/02/2017 11:00

O don't think there is a watershed on Radio 4. This has been mentioned on Feedback many times. The BBC's line is that they do try to keep the most controversial stuff to later in the day but it's an adult station so they won't exclude swearing/sexual content/violence altogether at times when children might be expected to hear snatches of R4.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/02/2017 11:00

O may think it. I do too. Sigh.
