Quelle surprise! Rob hasn't FOTTFSOF and is in fact hiding in the bushes at Henwee's school. Discuss the latest unlikely Archers events here.

What do we want?
Realistic storylines!
When do we want them?
As soon as the writers see this!

OP posts:

for. I think if Helen had known the latter she would have been on her guard

She did know didn't she? I thought Lilian told her.

ppeatfruit · 03/02/2017 08:53

But it gets dark earlyish at the moment Errol Yes Thurs. could be the day that's Johnny's at college.

Megatherium · 03/02/2017 08:53

I wonder how Arsula is going to deal with this one? Is she deluded enough to think kidnapping is justifiable if it's her son doing it?

BertrandRussell · 03/02/2017 08:59

I am still obsessed with the Public Information side of this. I can still make myself cross if I think about the stabbing, and and Rob not being charged with anything. I can now add outrage about the wholly unfair representation of the school. And that people will now be confirmed in their beli f that any baby left unattended for more than 5 seconds will be abducted.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2017 09:00

I'm rather hoping at this point that Rob's totally delusional brilliant plan is to take Myson home to Hampshire. If there's a shootout Ursula could sacrifice herself to try to save Rob (with Bruce baying 'dont be an idiot, woman')

Vango · 03/02/2017 09:01

Pat was going to Kirsty's for 5 wasn't she (or am I imagining that)? Henry was having tea/dinner/supper (depending on what you call it 😉) with a friend. I guess it was about 4.45. On a stormy night I reckon it was quite dark.

Yes, Helen knows the facts of the sacking but Lillian reassured her that he was definitely 'gone for good this time'. Helen has her doubts, of course, but she is listening to what her close family are telling her (for once) and probably doesn't yet trust herself.

ppeatfruit · 03/02/2017 09:04

Yes Bert But I've taught in schools where it could happen , at lunchtime there aren't enough staff in the playground, there are some schools surrounded by woodland and fields which would be difficult to 'police' properly with the best will in the world.

Vango · 03/02/2017 09:04

people will now be confirmed in their beli f that any baby left unattended for more than 5 seconds will be abducted.

In that case Bertrand they would need more help than a fictional drama could give them!

ppeatfruit · 03/02/2017 09:06

If anything went wrong it was always at lunchtime Grin

R4 · 03/02/2017 09:13

When JD was in the shop on Wednesday, trying out exotic fruits, she mentioned Rob. Helen made some non-committal noise that turned into a let's-not-tempt-fate "I don't want to talk/think about it".
So Helen wasn't convinced that Rob was disappeared, knew he had previously turned up unannounced ... and yet left the boys unattended.

Was she fearful of his return or not? Gah, she infuriates me.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2017 09:19

She could easily have unlocked the door, stayed outside with Jack and sent Henry in to find his flipping book or whatever it was. I know he doesn't sound it but surely he'd be old enough to have managed that?

Cromwell1536 · 03/02/2017 09:21

I am hoping mightily (or even bigly) that the scheduled Q&A session with the actor indicates that the Rob story ends tonight with the help of a falling tree. I don't think the scriptwriters/editors/powers that be have the appetite for another trial and associated lawyers and juries, and I know I haven't. So crossing fingers that this is it, and I think it would be a quite satisfying tie-up. Rob stays true to character to the end, the landscape of Ambridge claims his life (bit Mill on the Floss there!) and Helen is left to slowly work through the impact of this terrible relationship on herself and the children.

Would confirm Hell as the Black Widow of Ambridge tho', wouldn't it??

Vango · 03/02/2017 09:24

Errol Was it you who suggested Rob for Dr Who on another thread? I've come round to that idea Grin. He's very good. Tugged at my heartstrings talking to Henry.

ppeatfruit · 03/02/2017 09:32

Yes I agree about the actor who plays Knob's acting quality Vango You could believe his heartbreak at having to tell Henry he wasn't his real 'daddy" Sad

BeaLola · 03/02/2017 09:34

I think Rob will be involved in a crash & die. Perhaps Toby could crash into him & then Jill wouldmake him flapjacks for life !

He hasn't taken Henwee because he is not his REAL son/6 year old & baby in tow is harder to escape with & build a new life as Henwee would be asking about his family etc/if he is planning to go abroad he could easily have forged documents to get Jack a PP as he is on his B Certificate but he couldn't have got one for Henwee.

I cant see where he was planning to go abroad though as we would then have had long drawn out legal case

TheAntiBoop · 03/02/2017 09:34

I predict lots of shouting in strong wind and not being able to figure out what's happening. It will end with an aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

birdsdestiny · 03/02/2017 09:34

Yes he is the best actor on TA by a country mile. I think it is going to involve a car crash. Otherwise the sign posting about Pat breaking down and Tony on his way to save her doesn't make sense, surely there was more to that then just explaining why the farm would be deserted. If David is also giving Lily a driving lesson at the same time, then they have the potential for a 'who is dead' scenario. I may have been watching too much EE.

Vango · 03/02/2017 09:43

I cant see where he was planning to go abroad

He could go to Ireland easily enough on the ferry, in a hired car, with just his own ID and a birth certificate for the baby.

ppeatfruit · 03/02/2017 09:45

Well he would have to know someone with an 8 month old with the same facial characteristics as Jack , to get the PP photo ,wouldn't he BeaLola ?

TheAntiBoop · 03/02/2017 09:48

Wasn't it a bit late in the day for a play date on a school night? Or was it Friday yesterday?

Fink · 03/02/2017 09:49

Tugged at your heartstrings?! He told the boy, 'I'm only your pretend Daddy.'

Kronutpearl · 03/02/2017 09:51

You could believe his heartbreak at having to tell Henry he wasn't his real 'daddy

Men like Rob don't feel heartbreak, only blows to their egos.

Vango · 03/02/2017 09:55

Definitely Thursday Anti. The day Pat arranged to see Kirsty. If tonight's a continuation then we'll be skipping a day I assume.

Definitely 'tugged' Fink. He couldn't think of any other reason why he wasn't taking Henry. All very heat of the moment stuff. Where's your Christian compassion? 😁

BertrandRussell · 03/02/2017 09:58

People aren't starting to feel sorry for Rob, are they??

redshoeblueshoe · 03/02/2017 09:58

As Henwee was only going for tea why on earth didn't Hellin just say its alwight Henwee it will still be there when we get home
