Avoided a non-sweary title.

It's good because it leaves the way clear for a prosecution further down the line. As more real-life cases are heard in court, the SWs may decide to revisit the cc storyline, even if it happens at a distance (ie Helen is approached to give evidence in a case against Rob and a future victim). No doors have been closed. And no-one DIED!

PuppetInParadize · 20/01/2017 20:55

Well that was very satisfying indeed. Huge Canoe dun good. I didn't think Justin had it in him.

FlaviaAlbia · 20/01/2017 20:55

That was satisfying hearing Justin toy with him but if ever Rob's going to go off the deep end it's now.

I can't quite get past how much of a stereotype Tracey is but yet I've met people like her...

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2017 20:55

Why are we all assuming he is going off to Minnesota when he blatantly forged the reference.

I would have thought he will either slink off to mummy or, more likely, do a Falling Down

Vango · 20/01/2017 21:00

Justin's got a vacancy.

PuppetInParadize · 20/01/2017 21:03

What's a Falling Down? I assume a ref to something I've not read, heard or seen!

IAmNotAUserNumber · 20/01/2017 21:04

He's not going to Minnesota - even Trump has put the boot in to Rob today by promising American jobs for Americans - did he have an advance copy of tonight's script? Grin
And thank you Canoe and the SW's for giving us such a treat of an episode on what has been a horrible day for the world.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2017 21:07

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falling_Down

Could give huge canoe a great chance to get rid some of the crap characters soc brought in

mummytime · 20/01/2017 21:09

Falling Down is a fabulous film. Guy starts travelling across LA to visit his ex-wife and kid. You slowly realise he's not just some hard done by ex.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2017 21:10

Yes it is a good film. And could be quite apt

Fink · 20/01/2017 21:12

I thought it was brilliant that he lost the job because of incompetence and skullduggery in the profession. Much more satisfying than if it had come about because of his behaviour to Helen. Of course I still want him prosecuted for that, but with this hanging over his head he can't even go to a new area and claim that he was unfairly treated by a bunch of inbreds who are all shagging each other and have the entire region under their thrall. I mean, he might try that anyway, but any potential employer who rings up Damara for an informal chat about the candidate could be handed information about his unsuitability as an employee instead of vague, as yet (as he so frequently says) unproven, allegations about his private life.

LillianGish · 20/01/2017 21:13

I like the fact that that was all swiftly tied up - I think Huge Canoe has made the best of a bad job paddling himself out of the culvert SOC had left him in. JD had obviously filled in Lillian who in turn filled in Justin - we all know what happened so no need to revisit old ground and enormously satisfying to hear Knob getting his marching orders. I doubt that's the last we'll hear of Knob, but at least the culvert business has been laid to rest.

Vango · 20/01/2017 21:16

Some poor devils have had to work very hard to pull that one back from the brink! Believable, but unfinished business. He's still a threat. Excellent.

LillianGish · 20/01/2017 21:20

Some poor devils have had to work very hard to pull that one back from the brink! The same poor devils who are trying to decide what happens in Brighton.

Vango · 20/01/2017 21:22

Burning the midnight oil post SOC I'd say Lillian.

Patienceandchocolate · 20/01/2017 21:23

I have very fond memories of listening to The Archers with my Mum when I was growing up. I had not listened for about 15 years, but the Helen and Rob story line has brought me back in to the fold.

Could any long term listeners explain something for me please? I remember when Daniel Hebden- Lloyd was very young he was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis, so how has he managed to pass the medical to join the army?

Thank you very much

LillianGish · 20/01/2017 21:26

Ambridge health fairy - Daniel is long since cured.

RockNRollNerd · 20/01/2017 21:28

Splendid threat title as always Pseudo

I think that episode was as much for the SWs as the listeners; it signals a very clear wrapping up of the era of SOC but I agree with others that there is more to come in the demise of Rob - this unblocked the culvert nicely and now everything else will trickle down to where it should be in a nice orderly but still interesting resetting of the characters. I'm still holding out some hope that as part of this Rob's fiddling of the milk yields will come to light as well.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2017 21:32

I don't think the fiddling of the milk yields is really relevant any more - professionally he is dead. How he's going to keep that executive flat is anyone's guess but it can't be long until the implosion now!!

Bet he can't believe the predicament he finds himself in compared to a year ago

EveEveEve · 20/01/2017 21:34

Is no one a little concerned for Lillian's safety...?

Fink · 20/01/2017 21:36

I guess he wasn't lying when he told Stefan he didn't have a job ... just using the wrong tense. Grin

I wish he had met Stefan and paid him a large sum and then Justin had fired him on Monday morning. But they always seem to do big episodes on Fridays.

Vango · 20/01/2017 21:39

Not overly, no Eve. Rob's got such a long list now. I don't think she's at the top. 😁

mummytime · 20/01/2017 21:45

There is one other point, Lillian knew where Stefan was staying. (With her new tenants.). So either she or Justin might have already spoken to him.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2017 21:49

I should imagine Justin paid him off

glowfrog · 20/01/2017 21:49

Delurking again to say -

OMG OMG OMG
