For you FrancisGrin (I never tire of it.)

I think you are underestimating SOC's vision ... Why have inefficiencies like different Roys when you can have a single cross-platform Roy? A Platonic Ideal of a Roy. In this way, your Roy can roam, context-free, across the soaps shedding crises wherever it goes.

januarysnowdrop · 22/10/2016 22:37

I loved the mention of Eileen and Edgar Titcombe's bargain minibreak: The Past and Present Glories of Stoke-on-Trent. Fabulous.

Well, he's a decent enough bloke now but we can never quite forget he was once 'racist Roy' .

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/10/2016 23:36

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

TheAntiBoop · 23/10/2016 00:22

And there is a sl for you. Roy meets and falls for a non white lady. All goes well until Susan mentions his past, whilst change counting. Cue lots of angst about whether he is the man she thought etc etc and Roy listening to radio head at full volume before they split/make a go of it after he makes a grand gesture and/or performs a heroic feat that proves he's not racist

Gherkinsmummy · 23/10/2016 08:14

Or maybe he meets someone online falls for her and then finds out she has mixed race children from a previous relationship. Unable to hide his shock, he dumps her. Cue Radiohead, until Kate reminds him that she also has mixed race children and he realises he's an idiot.

TheAntiBoop · 23/10/2016 10:43

Tbf on Roy, I don't think he has shown any signs of being a racist since then. One would hope maturity and life experience have had their effect.

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2016 14:02

Exactly Anti. People grow up eventually Grin.

PuppetsinOuterSpace · 23/10/2016 22:31

I think Roy has a bit of a 'drippy' voice really, though i agree he is generally a nice person these days. I also agree he has left his racist views behind in his formative years - thank goodness.

KingscoteStaff · 24/10/2016 00:41

First words from Keira? Or do we count that vague squeaking in the Elfwood?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/10/2016 07:39

Not sure about Keira. I did a double take trying to work out who it was, but good she has not been forgotten. The Grundy refurbishment of the cider club made me Grin, as did the TA tweet about it: Newly refurbished clubhouse – every comfort. Send your subs now. #thearchers #GrundyCiderClub

GypsyFl0ss · 24/10/2016 08:36

are Keira and Henry of a similar age? I was struck by the vast difference in their articulateness last night.
I also wondered how Emmur will feel when she knows that Keira and possibly George have been co-opted, by Alice no less, into the panto when she herself has already given a firm no on behalf of the herself and Ed.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/10/2016 09:04

Yes, they started Reception at the same time. I wondered that too! I hope we get some acknowledgement soon that the SWs have remembered that Emma is Alice's sister-in-law. Too much to hope, I suppose, that they will give Chris a few words. Hmm

ppeatfruit · 24/10/2016 12:49

Kingscote If I remember correctly Keira was talking as toddler and onwards Grin.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 24/10/2016 13:47

Thanks for the new thread!

I'd put money on the Helen/Rob story having lots more to run and run. In the interlude in the court, when Rob spoke to Helen after she was set free, I thought was a pointer to a possible new twist. He spoke to praise her, and tell her how beautiful she looked. Give it some time, when the angst has died down, I can see her going back to him. At least for a while.

This would fit with the stats that indicate that the typical women has several goes at leaving before finally (sic) breaking free.

FinallyHere · 24/10/2016 14:03

Oooppps, sorry , thank you for the new thread pseudo and everyone. Im enjoying these threads much more than actually listening.

EBearhug · 24/10/2016 17:38

I hope not, but I could see it happening, when he's had time to learn and absorb his lesson. Except of course, he never will learn.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/10/2016 18:24

I don't think she will - for one thing, its not only Kirsty who is wise to Rob now, and surely she wouldn't mess Henry around like that.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/10/2016 19:07

Oh, new thread! Smashing

Talking of peel, whatever has happened to the bell ringers?

Fink · 24/10/2016 19:13

Kenton saying, 'even dear old Nige looks chubbier!' What the ... ?! Chubbier than when? Chubbier than now he's a skeleton?!

Fink · 24/10/2016 19:15

Although brilliant line from Neil about having a back, sack, and crack wax Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 24/10/2016 19:18

Keira hasn't been forgotten no, but the other grandchild, Poppy, didn't get a mention when Joe was saying they should look to the next generation

ErrolTheDragon · 24/10/2016 22:49

Tom and Kirsty definitely nothing doing... oh yeah...

Any bets on the decibel level of Lynda's sniff when she returns to find that Alice has efficiently organised the show but its a trad panto with no artistic pretensions?
