Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

Me too Errol. Kirsty can do so much better than either Tom or Roy. Patrick would be perfect.

PuppetInParadize · 15/11/2016 21:32

I agree, Vango. Till I read your post, I couldn't even remember what happened in tonight's episode.

Patrick's Kirsty's Wildlife Trust birdwatching friend.

We're all of the opinion that Roy and Kirsty are going to end up drunkenly tonguing under the mistletoe, right?

I've been thinking its a slow burner for months.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/11/2016 00:09

TBF, tonight was Shula not being angsty, just inadvertently giving Lizzie unfounded fears that the doc was playing with both sisters affections.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 16/11/2016 00:18

But I fear we are going to see Roy and Kirsty. Roy is perfectly pleasant, but somewhat less than dynamic

It is less dynamic than the very dampest of of damp squibs. I'd prefer a Kate /Roy reunion.

mummytime · 16/11/2016 03:56

Patrick also plays the Organ, so we tend to strictly "hear him" every Christmas although he hasn't spoken for years.

EsmesBees · 16/11/2016 07:15

I have memories of Kirsty and Patrick going on long walks to inspect the hides. He always seemed like the straight forward type who would suit Kirsty.

Vango · 16/11/2016 07:17

I suppose you're right Errol. But it's got to the point where Shula can't say anything without sounding like she's wrestling with her conscience.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/11/2016 07:29

I don't think Patrick has ever spoken. Also plays the piano for the Christmas show, IIRC. Is he gay or have I imagined that? I know here and on the old BBC messageboard there's been lots of speculation about him getting together with Kirsty, but I seem to recall that eventually something was said on air that made it plain it was never going to happen.

mummytime · 16/11/2016 07:56

i'm pretty sure Patrick has spoken in the distant past, either advising Bridge Farm about their Reedbed system, or when birdwatching or something. I think he has gone out with Kirsty but just wasn't her type (she went out with a birdwatcher once, or was that Fallon?).

ErrolTheDragon · 16/11/2016 09:44

Yes, he still shows up on the cast list (contains photo, warning for those who like to keep their imaginations unsullied)

re kirsty it says ' But they were always "just good friends". - but that applies to Roy and in the latter case should continue to do so - nice to have a platonic houseshare of mates regardless of their sex.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/11/2016 11:49

When Tom left Kirsty at the altar, I remember someone saying Patrick was hopping mad and wanted to go and beat Tom to a bloody pulp (paraphrasing)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/11/2016 12:19

Goodness! I have no memory of Patrick speaking at all. I wonder how long ago it was? Thanks for the link.
