Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

Before the grundies got to stay at grange farm, I think the plan was for Eddie, Clarrie and Joe to have Will's house (to prevent a repeat of the dreadful hostel business) with Ed&Em going back to live with Susan and Neil - making the best of a difficult situation. Ed & Em are now still at the farm I think from choice but presumably their contribution to the rent is essential.

MrsArthur etcAgree Lillian doesn't need Tiger, and certainly not to tell Justin or Rob where to go, but I think his absence, like Nigel's, leaves a hole in T A that no other characters have managed to fill. At least Matt was real compared to Rob's panto villain, and as for Towbee........

SerendipityPhenomenon · 08/11/2016 23:14

Ian isn't a Rob apologist. And, to be fair, it doesn't look like the members of the cricket team are.

Gherkinsmummy · 08/11/2016 23:34

Going back to Shula for a minute, I usually cluck my tongue to get a horse to move and say 'steady' in a soothing voice to get them to calm down. Shula is the worlds worst horsewoman.

The whole Justin & Lillian conversation was stupid and annoying.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/11/2016 23:41

I wonder if they record horse-riding scenes sat astride a reversed chair with the sound effects person weilding the coconut shell behind?Grin

In a turbulent world, thank goodness for Nancy.

And Jonnie

BertrandRussell · 09/11/2016 05:53

I did mean to name Jazzer as an exception.

I've gone off Ian a bit recently- why is he so wet?

ErrolTheDragon · 09/11/2016 07:57

Tom, obv and pretty sure David is firmly against rob. Some of the others are biting their tongues rather than really being Team Rob like Justin. Adam, Brian and Ed are stuck with having to work with the bastard, and so (in his own view) is Alan. Kenton appears to have the backbone of an overripe banana and evidently squares his desire to sell beer with his conscience by doing it slowly.Hmm

80sWaistcoat · 09/11/2016 10:25

Lillian's empty house. In real life she'd say to 'no' to Rob -whether with an excuse or just a flat out 'no'.

As its the Archers she'll let the house to Rob there'll be lots of uncomfortable conversations and a whole new set of fallings out.

Vango · 09/11/2016 11:21

Don't forget Tony.

mummytime · 09/11/2016 11:59

I thought Lillian sounded quite strongly against it at the start. But the final conversation was a bit weaker. I found Justin's "only do what you're happy with" a bit chilling.

glowfrog · 09/11/2016 12:53

After the Trump debacle I need some fucking justice in this world.

Send him literally packing, Lillian!!

SingingAvocado · 09/11/2016 13:25

I'm with you there Glowfrog!

PuppetInParadize · 09/11/2016 15:03

Glowfrog, exactly right.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/11/2016 16:54

I wonder if they've done one of their topical inserts today - Rob and Pat for 'balance' maybe?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/11/2016 19:23

Nope. Ambridge is the only place in the UK, possibly even the world, where nobody's talking about Trump.

ColdTeaAgain · 09/11/2016 19:28

Has Lillian decided yet??

Shallishanti · 09/11/2016 20:38

it really does defy belief- how hard would it have been to record 2 inserts?

AnnieNoMouse · 09/11/2016 20:53

Adam does sound a bit like he's parodying John Finnemore's parody - what was it, 'one of the men who always sounds tired' ?

TheAntiBoop · 09/11/2016 22:37

i listen to the archers to escape - not for topical inserts on elections and brexit!
