What day is it again?

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 10/09/2016 23:08

Did you know sheep can't fart? Just sharing as we are all rather at a loose end without an evening episode.

PitchFork · 10/09/2016 23:15

boff that's a really interesting fact :o
I know horses can't vomit very relieved about that tbh

Putthetulipsthere · 10/09/2016 23:15

Annie No Mouse - love your post, from 21.53. Tomorrows episode is grandstanding on SOC's part, it's quite extraordinary that he should divert attention away from Ambridge characters with his star studded jury - at the cost of time spent hearing Rob squirm in the witness box!

Pseudo, there are so many inspired thread titles to choose from here, but please include reference to his much appreciated exit from Ambridge 😀

Mootsie · 10/09/2016 23:17

Years ago we had a postman who was a terrible gossip. You'd often catch him holding envelopes up to the light before shoving them through the letter box. We rejoiced when he had to take early retirement due to ill health but we stopped celebrating when his wife got his job!

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/09/2016 23:23

The verdict's in and SOC'S out

BoffinMum · 10/09/2016 23:23

If you find a swollen sheep you need to part its buttocks to enable release and stop it dying. Just telling you all that in case you are on the way to a rural S&M class and encounter a sheep in distress.

JasperDamerel · 10/09/2016 23:24

Fiderer, your village sounds not dissimilar to my mum's, although the vinyards are a bit further south after the end of the forest.

She also gets people being airlifted to hospital when they need any sort of emergency medical care, and best of all, the time when there was a huge anti-terrorist raid on a group of survivalists in the next village.

My nomination for the village BDSM practitioner is Alistair. All that time he's been unavailable to Shula, he's been at a dungeon in Penny Hassett.

BoffinMum · 10/09/2016 23:28

Jasper 😄

quince2figs · 10/09/2016 23:33

Jasper, I've just choked on my wine!

Vango · 10/09/2016 23:34

It'll be Neil (AKA The Manager) and Susan! Think about it...access to the post office (to intercept parcels), chilli nights etc. He'll be totally discredited as a character witness when it all comes out.

Putthetulipsthere · 10/09/2016 23:41

Boffin - That is fascinating about sheep not farting. How weird.

EBearhug · 11/09/2016 00:19

Or you puncture their belly in the right place (see Gabriel Oak in Far From the Madding Crowd, as many of us are from Dorset.) Though you'll kill the sheep if you get the wrong place.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/09/2016 00:51

finally, caught up.

Tuktuktaker · 11/09/2016 07:32

Cecile, when Gamekeeper Greg committed suicide in May 2004, Helen slowly drifted into a serious eating disorder and eventually had to go into hospital for quite a long time for treatment. Since then, her family have anxiously watched for signs of this illness to return, which it does when she is under stress. I have always assumed it was bulimia rather than anorexia but don't know if I have any "factual" basis for that. Anyhow, Helen has been off her food for a while, which indicated to me a return of this illness, and Pat noticing how thin she had got when she first saw her again in court, I think is proof that she is suffering from it again. Which might mean anorexia rather than bulimia?
Jasper, that is brilliant Grin
How do you do the Archers thingy? (Testing!)
Oh, AnnieNoMouse, spot on, exactly what I've been thinking. I think I've seen the word "vainglorious" used to describe SO"c, seems quite appropriate to me.

JudyCoolibar · 11/09/2016 07:59

I don't think Pat's seen Helen since she gave birth, has she? So she will probably look thin to her anyway. However, they normally signal it if the eating disorder returns, and they haven't been doing that. I would have thought if she wasn't eating properly it would have impacted on breastfeeding.

Fiderer · 11/09/2016 08:07

Am remaining un-lurked. Though however well Louiza Patikas is playing her, can't stand Helen. Want her to get off, get out and be v quiet for a long time.

Have never forgiven her for how she treated Hayley after John died.

Oh and rurally reporting, had a deer in the garden nibbling on my weeds this morning. Wonder if I can entice it back?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2016 08:17

I'm not sure - Rob was certainly trying to induce a return of an eating disorder ( in a pregnant woman FFS), but it wasn't clear to me that he'd succeeded. Presumably the medical staff would have been aware of her history and looked for signs when she had that anaemia episode? The Sunday lunch at the Bull incident would have made anyone nauseous I'd have thought.

tibbawyrots · 11/09/2016 08:38

Well I was going to comment that I was considering gagging OH and tying him to the chair tonight as he finds it difficult enough to not speak or make noise during the normal length episode but with the talk up thread of S&M (and living in a small village) I feel it best not to. 😆

BoffinMum · 11/09/2016 08:52

Threaten him with the sheep dip Tubb

NotdeadyetBOING · 11/09/2016 08:56

Lock yourself in the bathroom that is what I intend to do

Tuktuktaker · 11/09/2016 08:58

Judy, on the odd occasion I've heard Helen over the past year or so, during the build up to the stabbing, she's been rejecting food, saying she's not hungry, or that she'd already eaten when she hadn't - that was why I mentioned it, it was clear to me it was signalling the return of her eating disorder. Or is it just me, then, am I living in a parallel universe? Oh, dear Sad
Fiderer, completely with you about Hellbent's behaviour after John's death, it was disgraceful, and I don't forget these things, even if successive editors have done!

BurnTheBlackSuit · 11/09/2016 09:10

I also thought her eating disorder had come back.

Olympiathequeen · 11/09/2016 09:14

Really interesting article about the psychology of Helens situation. About the pros and cons of expert testimony from a psychologist. Not as simple as we thought!

Olympiathequeen · 11/09/2016 09:15

Has this thread filled up in a day? Shock

Fiderer · 11/09/2016 09:17

I know I haven't listened a lot lately cos the SL is so grim and infuriating, but how has her weight loss not been more commented on/investigated?

I've recently lost weight after a series of stomach bugs (work in a school, there's always some virus flying around) and every bugger and his neighbour has been telling me how much weight I've lost.
