What day is it again?

To be fair I don't think it is fair to ask a non-lawyer to write such a complex legal story out of the blue, so to speak.

If they'd skipped the extravagant jury the BBC might have been able to afford a barrister to write the story with him - rather than just phone in some pointers, which I suspect is what actually happened.

Olympiathequeen · 10/09/2016 13:24

Thread title?

The jury's out, the verdicts in. Helen spoke up, but who will win?

Olympiathequeen · 10/09/2016 13:25

Or The jury's back. The verdicts in. Helen spoke up, but who will win?

PseudoBadger · 10/09/2016 13:28

I think I have something now. New thread will be before tomorrow's omnibus whatever happens, as I have to work all day and evening Sad

Vango · 10/09/2016 13:28

Nice, Olympia 😁. Works for the trial AND the Family Court hearing.

GrumpyOldBag · 10/09/2016 13:42

Ahem.

Far be it for me to correct Olympia's grammar but shouldn't it be verdict's

Tuktuktaker · 10/09/2016 13:50

Please, oh, pretty please, can we have DoctorTwo's suggestion? I like a nice fish pun and custard.

Olympiathequeen · 10/09/2016 14:17

Blush. Yes. Should be verdict's! I do know that actually but got carried away with excitement of thinking up a title.

Could have been wors and put juries Grin

DesolateWaist · 10/09/2016 14:24

There are a lot of us here from Dorset farms aren't there?
When I was growing up we didn't go anywhere until the omnibus had finished. Or car journeys were timed to finish when the omnibus finished.
My family have farmed for generations, I remember my grandad listening to it in the milking parlour.

DoctorTwo · 10/09/2016 14:49

Ooh, thanks Tuktuktaker, it's nice to be appreciated. Just like the only other thread title suggestion I made it took longer to type out than to think of it. :o

PseudoBadger · 10/09/2016 15:16

We have already had a custardy title.

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 10/09/2016 15:17

Sorry that's blunter that I meant it to be!

This is my idea:

I'm a celebrity -get me in The Archers! The jury's out in Ambridge

OP posts:
Vango · 10/09/2016 15:49

Pseudo I love that.

Butteredparsn1ps · 10/09/2016 16:06

Love that Pseudo. I was working on a late entry with a harvest theme - but it got a bit long...

We Plough the fields and natter, with good folk old and new,
But is no longer matters that SOC's verdict is due.
No spoilers please we'd rather, POM* didn't get in a lather,
And all we really want to know, does Bert wins best in show?

JudyCoolibar · 10/09/2016 16:07

What frustrates me about SOC leaving is that I bet it will leave many of the loose ends still loose, as the new editor will probably have their own ideas where to take the SLs which may well not include bringing back Stefan to Reveal All or anyone discovering Rob's financial shenanigans at Berrow. Mind you, I can live quite happily without ever discovering what Rex and Toby's references to Brighton relate to.

Vango · 10/09/2016 16:15

Loathe him we may, but Rob is an excellent character brilliantly acted. My hope is that the next 'big' storyline centres around his undoing. With any luck, Helen will be encouraged by Anna to bring charges against him under the new law and investigations will uncover evidence of fraud, embezzlement, bribery and whatever happened to Stefan. The new Ed has plenty to go on for the next year at least and would, I suspect, like to keep Tim as long as possible. Fingers crossed.

ibrowze · 10/09/2016 16:28

BoreofWhabylon

ibrowze · 10/09/2016 16:31

Bore thanks you are better defence barrister than Anna TregoranSmile

ibrowze · 10/09/2016 16:44

PseudoBadger

I'm a celebrity -get me in The Archers! The jury's out in Ambridge

Great title.

Scarydinosaurs · 10/09/2016 16:46

Is anyone else worried that Helen may now be targeted by Rob to reconcile? And this could be an even more upsetting storyline?

TakingTheFifth · 10/09/2016 16:46

Long time lurker and another one from a farm in Dorset. Loving this thread, thank you all.

I agree knob is a deliciously evil character, I'll enjoy watching his undoing too. I find Helen quite irritating, quite happy for her to go to prison for a while. Most people with as much family support as she has would have left well before they got all stabby.

Vango · 10/09/2016 16:52

Scary The same thought occurred to me earlier! I can very well imagine the scenario. Lonely Helen, forever questioning herself, confidence shattered. Bewildered Rob, back to his charming, wounded (physically and emotionally) self. "Where did it all go wrong darling?".

ErrolTheDragon · 10/09/2016 17:03

Scary - I can't see that. Rob will be pushing his story that Helen is mad, bad and dangerous to know, and regardless of the verdict that he is the innocent victim. Hopefully to a lot of HmmAngry.

Presumably even when they change editors, they've still got the same SWs, and there must be various short, medium and long term story arc plans, so hopefully there wont be too many dropped loose ends

IggyPopsicle · 10/09/2016 17:06

I am another one who is looking forward to tomorrow's verdict special. I normally listen on catchup but will have to try and find a way to listen live, in peace easier said than done

ErrolTheDragon · 10/09/2016 17:08

Helen wont be lonely any more though - his tricks to alienate her from friends and family just wont wash now. Plus shes been able to stand up in court and assert herself in court and have confirmation that the problem is him not her from Jess.
