Thank you for the welcome DadDadDad. Enjoying somewhere to talk about TA as not many people share my enthusiasm in RL. Will get braver about joining in!

Singing - I wouldn't worry about posting the "wrong" thing. The threads discussing The Archers are some of the friendliest that I've seen on MN. Inevitably, there are some in-jokes and abbreviations, but I don't think it's that cliquey, as people are usually willing to explain (both the abbreviations and aspects of TA).

Did you know we got our own smiley this year: (type archers inside [ ]). It's meant to be The Bull and symbolises the community spirit of these threads.

It's not too obvious until you know what it is meant to be - not one to sprinkle around other threads! Unlike, for instance .

If people were really worried about keeping spoilers to the spoilers thread, there would be a link in the OP.

TA threads are without doubt some of the most forgiving and friendly threads on MN. You will not be shot at like an errant dog in a field of sheep for just being there.

I have no idea what's going to happen next. It seems to be without question that Helen stuck the knife in. Beyond that it seems only SOC's headline grabbing leading the characters. Clearly SOC wants the outcome to hit the national press again and to cause more upset and anger. The whole thing is not about anyone in The Archers. The characters appear to be his puppets to massage his ego before he heads off into the glory of EE. Rant over!

Although not skacking off work (I wish - stupid open plan office) I have taken lunch outside instead of lunching with my fellow workers. I said it was because its a nice day but really just wanted to catch with this thread. I agree that Ursula will stand by Rob no matter what - I can just imagine a conversation with her and Rob and/or Bruce along the lines of "as if you can rape a wife - it's just the give and take of a marriage " or something equally horrible.

Thank goodness I know what means. First glance I thought it was a neo fascist flag . Of course it's The Bull!

Bore - if the date is imminent then I don't think anyone will consider it to be a 'spoiler' - rather an enhancer!

We've often discussed announcements about SODOFF (Sean O'Connor's Date Of Finally Finishing) on this thread, so I don't think that's a spoiler (unless it somehow gives an indication of what is happening to characters in TA, eg Rob Titchener is going to move to Albert Square ).
