Well in a case that I was a juror in, all the lawyers etc were men and were all incompetent why would a woman necessarily be better? They are overworked and stressed . Whether male or female fgs.

I concluded it was more a cry for help than anything approaching spoilerdom!

It is indicative of what is wrong with TA. It used to be an everyday tale, it felt like RL being portrayed. Now it feels like a soap, with plotlines and the editor's heavy hand showing.

Last night I found myself saying (to myself ...) that it doesn't sound like TA any more.

If Anna had a nervous breakdown, and split from her partner/husband, then why did she take this case ? or was it purely to inflict more misery on us

Because in this case she was sold to us as a shit hot barrister with wide experience of domestic abuse. That's why.

Yes, I guess it's not so much that I want Anna to be better than a man, as that I want her not to be worse than she was supposed to be because she's a female character.

Anna is the Fairbrothers all over again. Someone with a tenuous historical connection is parachuted in but they have no link to Ambridge or the villagers so it does not gel properly. It doesn't help that there are dark hints to a backstory that we are not privy to. The whole idea of TA is that the listener knows all the village gossip since the year dot.
