I've just browsed Lowfield for the first time - they really don't like Pat do they!

OP posts:
R4 · 03/06/2016 11:09

I think that Caroline & Oliver should be known as Caroli Smile

trevortrevorslatterfry · 03/06/2016 12:06

R4 that made me think of Charlie Caroli the clown Smile.

How about "Caroliner"?
Oh Caroliner

Alleycat1 · 03/06/2016 12:38

I expect Jess will be wheeled out as a 'surprise' witness at the last minute to ramp up the tension, or so SOC imagines. Fact is we are all bored now.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/06/2016 15:14

Indeed. Jess will be held back. It will turn out she has been on holiday or some such shit.

Ian though, I am not sure him phoning pllice and twlling tgem he also adsaulted Rob would do much for Helins case.

StVincent · 03/06/2016 15:21

Haha Oh Caroliner :)

KittiesInsane · 03/06/2016 15:26

Well quite, SmallLegs: 'Oh come on officer, he just has a face anyone would want to punch...'

BYOSnowman · 03/06/2016 15:35

I think I've got it

All will be lost - Ian's testimony totally discredited by the punch

And then Bradley Wiggins will cycle in 'stop! I can assure that man is a knob who deserved his punch in the face'

BertrandRussell · 03/06/2016 16:53

I've been thinking. What is the single most awful, chilling line Rob has said?

For me it's "The night I gave you our son"
Anyone?

Gruach · 03/06/2016 17:18

"Nobody likes a noisy boy ..."

BertrandRussell · 03/06/2016 17:21

Oh, God, yes.

And "Little Miss Giggly......"

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 17:35

All of those. Also, the conversation in the car with Ursula when he referred to Ruairi as having had an over-feminised upbringing in the first few years of his life, which had been put right by being sent to a single sex boarding prep school. It was chilling because I don't believe that anybody in the Aldridge family would describe Ruairi's early years with Siobhan in those terms. That was Rob's interpretation of what he heard. Very revealing.

EsmesBees · 03/06/2016 17:44

I can't recall a particular line. But an early scene that stuck in my mind as revealing was Rob's response to Jess dropping that dressed salmon.

ArgyMargy · 03/06/2016 17:47

"She will have to be persuaded"...?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 03/06/2016 17:51

Something about 'Mummy wasn't always kind to us'.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 17:53

'Oh yes, that's much better.'

It was something like that. Helen was getting ready for some function. I think we heard her getting ready and then we cut to another scene. When we heard her again, she was anxiously asking Rob if her second attempt at her hair, outfit, makeup etc was all right and he was patronisingly saying the above.

Put that together with the comment about the 'low-cut' maternity tops he pressured her into sending back after suggesting she shouldn't have bought herself any new clothes anyway, and a few other similar scenes where she had to change her clothes to something more to his taste - I think we all got the picture. Sad Angry

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 03/06/2016 17:54

'They thought your anorexia had come back! I mean.... look at the size of you!'

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 18:22

To David: 'I'm not sleeping well, what with Helen taking up all the room in the bed with her huge belly and swollen ankles...'

Gruach · 03/06/2016 19:16

Now why did that need a speech?

Actions not words ...

KingscoteStaff · 03/06/2016 19:17

Do you know, I don't think I've ever heard that particular arrangement being made before.

Fink · 03/06/2016 19:19

I think the worst line was after he found out about the changed birth plan: 'I'm not a monster ...'

Alleycat1 · 03/06/2016 19:56

Same as Bertrand. "The night I gave you our son" , really creepy.

BlackeyedSusan · 03/06/2016 22:48

ex seemed to think he was entitled to half the bed and that me, my 8.5 month stomach and dd could all sleep in the other half quite comfortably.

BlackeyedSusan · 03/06/2016 22:49

anyway, got distracted, is it safe to listen to tonights. or should I wait until morning when swearing at the radio will not disturb the neighbours so much.

BertrandRussell · 03/06/2016 22:50

A bit disconcerted that there are no comments on tonight's episode. Maybe the first glimmerings of something to work with for Anna,,,,,,,,?

enochroot · 03/06/2016 23:01

She gave a couple of crumbs of information but seemed to be getting two incidents mixed up at first. Also she wasn't there for the binning of Thomas and is only repeating what Rob told her when she came home so he will be able to deny it - if it is significant enough to use.
Anna is getting the right impression though. 'He wouldn't let me....' and so on.
It looks like she will have to grant him access to Jack.
