New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

👍👍auld alliance.

NotdeadyetBOING · 28/04/2016 16:54

Leaving Helrob aside for a minute, anyone know why Justin has suddenly gone all cold on Lilian? Hitherto it's all been 'oh, Miranda isn't interested' etc.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 28/04/2016 16:57

Beinging Rob right back into it (sorry)Wink
Think it is the same scenario as when Jess arrives. Now the arrival.of Miranda is imminent Justin is distancing himself for Lill as it might seem a bit Hmm to Miranda

EasyToEatTiger · 28/04/2016 17:16

Where's the cow? Where's the cow?!!!!

2rebecca · 28/04/2016 17:18

This is going to drag tediously on. I can't be bothered with everyone being morose and going round in circles for months. Alternative tea time entertainment is on the agenda.

BYOSnowman · 28/04/2016 17:28

I've started putting my kids to bed later as I don't bother listening anymore. So there are some winners!

NotdeadyetBOING · 28/04/2016 17:45

I feel almost grubby admitting this, but am still gripped. Realise SOC has used the cheapest tactics ever to suck in thrill-seeking listeners etc. and am an old hand when it comes to TA so should be withdrawing in disgust, but I can't see myself eschewing my fix anytime soon.

Obviously I reserve the right to moan about it on a regular basis, however Grin

AuldAlliance · 28/04/2016 18:14

Phew, I'm glad people agree; was worried I'd gone a bit OTT for a first post.

AugustaFinkNottle · 28/04/2016 18:17

Rob will have a contract, even if it's not in writing.

AuldAlliance · 28/04/2016 18:18

Sorry about the shockingly misplaced apostrophe in my first post, though. Blush

Thymeout · 28/04/2016 18:40

I hope they've stopped Helen's pay going into the joint account.

TopazRocks · 28/04/2016 18:42

Or Rob will think/behave as if he has a contract! Part of Helen's argument - if she ever speaks again or get her mitigation story act together - could include that Rob muscled in on work at the shop, tried to destroy the family business as he did at the shop in Borchester. It's all gone so weird, but you wonder how they could all work together again. Fallon doesn't trust him, but is strangely quiet so far. Tom thinks he's a bully - and dear knows what really happened over his Canada sojourn, and his non-marriage the 'that dyke Kirsty'. PatnTone are distressed, but in a very quiet way, over the kidnapping of Henry. Rob is so verry angry and distressed that eh was nearly deaded. As is his delightfully supportive mother.

What i want now is for Brucie to be given back the teeth so we can hear how he feels really about so much of his 'hard earned' (or his GOOD money - it's bound to be one of those) cash being spent on his useless son and his bastard step-child. And if his son wasn't useless to him before, what must he really think now the knob's let himself be nearly deaded by a woman. After all, look at him, he 's been married to Arsula all those decades and not once has she tried to stab HIM. Though he doesn't know how much the frenetic cleaning of BH cottage was a tactic to stop her shoving a WRVS flapjack down Bruce's throat which would have no doubt resulted in her having to join Helen on death row.

AND I want HELEN TO TALK AND TALK AND TALK. Something i have never previously desired on TA. (It is my birthday you know, so i should get my wishes, non?)

BTW is Kirsty banned form contact with PatnTone nTom as she is a prosecution witness? Or is that only with Helen?

TopazRocks · 28/04/2016 18:48

Thyme, i was thinking that too. But PnT are so dim (unlike all of us!) they won't have thought it through. Cue, more hand-wringing. I hate those two characters now - and I dislike the normally very good David Troughton in the role. It's not just the stupid lines he has to speak, it's the sighing and tentativeness over every bloody thing. OldTone wasn't like that, was he?

Stickerrocks · 28/04/2016 19:18

Rob has been at the shop for less than a year. There must be a hundred & one reasons why they can get rid of him without him having any claim against Bridge Farm.

AugustaFinkNottle · 28/04/2016 19:19

Rob does have a contract. The mere fact that your employer doesn't give you a written contract doesn't change that.

AugustaFinkNottle · 28/04/2016 19:19

Glad to hear Shula in the anti-Knob camp. It would be even better to hear signs of her conscience waking up over the hunt sab business.

Stickerrocks · 28/04/2016 19:25

Got it. Rob turns up for work & makes a sneery comment to Tom about Helen. Tom refuses to rise to it. Rob continues to rant and (worse) pelts him with scotch eggs, so Tom sacks him for gross misconduct.

Stickerrocks · 28/04/2016 19:30

Regardless, he should only be receiving SSP. Helen would have had an ownership interest in the shop & farm after Pat & Tone's decision to handover the business to Tom & Helen, whereas Rob is a mere employee. He can't force Pat & Tone to pay him more than the bare minimum when he's off sick. That won't cover Usha's rent.

R4 · 28/04/2016 19:36

Rob does have a contract. The mere fact that your employer doesn't give you a written contract doesn't change that.

But he has few rights; they don't kick in until after two years' employment. That's assuming that the SW stick to employment law and don't start making things up.Hmm

NotdeadyetBOING · 28/04/2016 19:51

Come ON Shula…….!

drspouse · 28/04/2016 20:04

What did Shula say? DH was talking at that point. I know, LTB.

MrsArthurShappey · 28/04/2016 20:04

Happy Birthday topaz
🎉🎁🍾

nippiesweetie · 28/04/2016 20:07

Hearing Jazzer tonight made me remember his quiet walk with Henwee. Clutching at straws, I know, but might he come out with something like, "'I'm surprised henry was OK aboot goin' wi Rob, because he telt me..."

Here my imagination breaks down because I really don't know what the Henwee we have all come to know and not love might say. I think they should have cast an adult as Henwee and then asked the sound engineers to tweak the voice.

Mind you, SOC would probably have taken that as licence to traumatise us all with Henry's suffering.

EasyToEatTiger · 28/04/2016 20:09

I was busy doing something else at the appointed hour. I feel much better for it!

R4 · 28/04/2016 20:10

Shula didn't say anything. You could hear her thinking about saying something but she chickened out.
Rob can't sue for unfair dismissal but he can sue for discrimination. I suppose him and his colostomy bag could sue for disability discrimination?
