New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

Jessie as I wrote that I knew it wasn't really word I was looking for...more poignant tbh.

I too thought that the Aldridge farm legacy had been dealt with a few years ago , both through Jenny laying down her ground rules as mentioned above and Adam being made a partner when he was threatening to leave.

Soc wouldn't let pesky facts get in the way. Soaps don't have to be historically consistent after all.

Just a thought about the episode that Keri Davies says he's writing but doesn't think will ever be broadcast...

Do you think that in September we will have a 'You, The Jury' type episode where the listeners get to vote whether Helen's guilty or not? Wasn't there an Ayckbourn play where the audience got to choose what happened at the end of each scene?

So Keri's episode could be the 'Guilty' version!

Mind you, after the 'Boaty McBoatface' incident, public votes may be less generally used...

AugustaFinkNottle · 08/05/2016 09:26

I think I've read that they only write about 12 weeks ahead, so it's unlikely they're writing a September episode now. I suspect people are right, the potentially unbroadcast episode is to do with the referendum.

ppeatfruit · 08/05/2016 10:17

Oh I don't remember Brian being so welcoming when he found out Adam was gay. I think he was quite mean about it actually. Jenny was the lovely one.

BYOSnowman · 08/05/2016 10:29

Not when he found out but he seems to have come to terms with it now!!

theredjellybean · 08/05/2016 10:56

just listening to the omnibus

i reckon Hellin will have the baby and hand it over to rob...she has never showed a lot of interest in it and now sounding even less bovverrrrred......

i reckon she will trade it for Henweee....and rob will take baby as its his real blood child,

20 yrs time baby will come looking for Hellin...

theredjellybean · 08/05/2016 10:56

actually think that maybe eastenders had a plot like that already

EsmesBees · 08/05/2016 11:05

I'm not sure I could take it if this story line lasted another 20 years. Haven't been able to listen all week because we are moving and, to be honest, it's been a nice break from the misery.

ppeatfruit · 08/05/2016 11:51

BOOP for Justin trying sensitively to describe the difference between Lil and Miranda. He nearly said that Lil is 'cuddly'. I reckon they'll end up DTD quite soon. OOOer Simon Williams yum. Grin

ArgyMargy · 08/05/2016 17:14

Just read SOC's Grauniad interview. What a prick.

Vango · 08/05/2016 17:28

Right with you on that one ArgyMargy 😁. Who are these 'fans' allegedly bemoaning his departure? Seriously?

And this:

On his original application form for the editor’s job, he tells me, he simply “ignored the questions” and wrote what he felt the show was really about.

I do not, for half a second, believe that. Under the BBC's fair recruitment rules he surely wouldn't have even been shortlisted. If I'd previously applied, and I read that, I'd be querying the recruitment process!

ArgyMargy · 08/05/2016 17:41

Indeed Vango. And I don't believe Decca Aitkenhead is a real listener either.

LyndaNotLinda · 08/05/2016 17:42

What an insufferably pompous ass SO'C is.

I actually don't know any longterm listeners who think he's been good for TA. Sure, there are plenty of new listeners but they don't know that half the SLs are utter guff.

I listened to the film today having not listened in the week. Patbot is just bizarre Hmm

Vango · 08/05/2016 17:57

Neither do I, ArgyMargy. Otherwise she'd never have written this

Longstanding fans previously embarrassed to own up to their addiction to “the everyday tale of farming folk” have been engaged in fevered debates with the newly converted, all mesmerised by a storyline based around the new criminal offence of coercive control.

I've never met anyone embarrassed about listening to The Archers. Honestly! I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe at the moment.

Gruach · 08/05/2016 19:07

Hah!

Play quietly in the corner.

It's going well ...

Stickerrocks · 08/05/2016 19:11

I'm waiting for him to start dripping poison into Henry's ear. Here we go...

redshoeblueshoe · 08/05/2016 19:13

What a fucking bastard, that's Rob well SOC too I guess

KingscoteStaff · 08/05/2016 19:15

Vom.

EasyToEatTiger · 08/05/2016 19:22

I was clattering in kitchen going la la la la, then Knob started on Henwee so I switched off. It's grindingly obvious what is going on and I really have no desire to listen.

Vango · 08/05/2016 19:35

Hey, Sean! Guess what I realised when I was listening tonight? You've made The Archers BORING, because you've made it predictable. I don't think you have an original thought in your head. And furthermore, whatever grand plans you think you have for 'generations to come', you won't have any say in future storylines when you're back in your spiritual home, so there.

redshoeblueshoe · 08/05/2016 19:41

Vango Wine

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/05/2016 20:31

Vango Chocolate

BYOSnowman · 08/05/2016 21:15

can you copy that to feedback Vango?

Feel free to say you know at least one other person who agrees!!
