New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

Toomuch thanks, as you can tell I know nothing about horses or their owners Grin
The coffee was fun.

JessieMcJessie · 04/05/2016 12:25

I am worried that the hens are going to have to stay in the caravan forever for social media purposes and Bert will end up having built TWO unused hen houses.

I am more worried about this than I am about Helen.

DadDadDad · 04/05/2016 12:35

Julian is the ship - like Brangelina!

I've only just understood that comment: "ship" = "relationship", Justin + Lillian = Julian. Is that right? Very clever.

PatrickMcGinty · 04/05/2016 12:58

I thought Miranda had a past life as a show jumper? Perhaps I imagined that !

I assume it was a racehorse she was talking about, you don't need to be horsey to be an owner, just have enough to pay the training fees. A couple I know part-own a racehorse via a syndicate, I don't think they've ever been nearer to it than seeing it in the paddock at a course.

Yes, yes to the Dressage Queen, I meet so many of them, the satisfaction of beating the pants off them with our Natives makes me chortle with glee 😆. (Especially those who gaze down from the dizzying heights of their highly strung imports and loudly proclaim 'what a sweet little pony' in our direction).

I don't want to talk about the programme, I'm too upset and annoyed, it's gone from melodrama into farce. I know every village has to have its idiot, but it seems like that lot haven't got a brain cell between them!

Greengager · 04/05/2016 12:59

Do the SW think constantly wailing women is a way to increase dramatic tension? I really wish Helen and Pat would pull themselves together and start fighting!

Toomuchtea · 04/05/2016 13:16

Patrick - entirely possible Miranda does have a past life as a show jumper, but I might well have missed it. I just assumed from the way Justin said oh yes, it's Miranda's horse, that the horse was something on which a lot of something was lavished, whether money or time or both, who knows? But hopefully we will hear.

Well done on beating the DQs with your Natives (=native pony breeds if anyone needs a translation!). Something I would love to see,

Minimammoth · 04/05/2016 13:22

I enjoyed the Miranda,Lil and Justin. How long before Lill tells her to stick it.?
So nice not to be talking about Helrob etc

RockNRollNerd · 04/05/2016 13:54

Finally caught up on the current thread. We were away for all of the stabbing and aftermath I downloaded the podcasts at Miami Airport just before getting on the plane and then was simultaneously transfixed and outraged for the first hour or so of the flight. I tried to re read the threads but gave up and settled just for this one, I think between you you covered everything I was thinking though!

Am looking forward to seeing how Ambridge Synthetics portray Miranda on Sunday!

JessieMcJessie · 04/05/2016 14:03

Was the point about Miranda's horse not that it was the Arab horse that Lilian went with Justin to try out and advise on? I thought it was to underline that Justin had clearly not told Miranda anything about Lil's involvement in its purchase.

Gruach · 04/05/2016 14:27

BOOP for the Dressage Queen background! That's exactly how I was seeing her.

Yes Jessie, I also thought that was the point. Definite withholding of information in that household. And I had hoped he'd change his mind and give Lil the horse. But Lilian's revenge on Miranda will be sweet.

Re arson attacks. SOC is having a larf. (By himself.) 50 years ago Ambridge suffered a similar run of firestarting. The culprit was eventually found to be Polly's not quite stable father - shortly before she became Polly Perks; Sid's first wife. (Much missed by me.)

Toomuchtea · 04/05/2016 14:33

Ah - I'd completely missed the part where Lil and Justin bought the horse together. That puts a whole new complexion on the emphasis J put on mentioning the horse.

So they did actually buy the horse? Where is it now - Shula's?

mummytime · 04/05/2016 14:36

It's the crime wave, all unsolved that gets me.
You would expect the police to solve at least some of it. Or one day Eddie to come back from the market saying the gossip was the police had picked up one gang involved in animal thefts. Surely even with all the difficulties, some criminals must be being caught?

Or is Helen the only one they've got this year? And Wayne's drug dealing a couple of years ago ... is that all the crime they solve in Borsetshire?

ppeatfruit · 04/05/2016 16:11

Too much tea Just the name Anky Van Grunsven* Is enough to give me a laugh let alone her getting marks for not halting !! I can quite understand the native pony riders giving 2 fingers to the snobby Arab owners. Grin (I doo like the look of them though) Blush

Bajanella · 04/05/2016 16:25

According to the Who's Who on the BBC Archers site, Miranda is a former three day eventer.

EBearhug · 04/05/2016 17:39

mummytime, you forgot to mention the mystery of the missing bunting. (If only Enid Blyton had written Five Go To Lakey Hill.)

Thymeout · 04/05/2016 18:12

Yes - perhaps Jennifer has discovered The Faraway Tree.

KingscoteStaff · 04/05/2016 19:18

Yes Tom!
At last someone is talking sense.

Bea · 04/05/2016 19:19

Good old Tom!... If Helen doesn't buck up soon I hope they throw away the key!! Angry

GrumpyOldBag · 04/05/2016 19:19

Better. She's starting to remember and come to her senses, the custard comment was key. I think she'll plead Not Guilty.

GrumpyOldBag · 04/05/2016 19:21

Also think it was good Pat wasn't there. She would have said the wrong thing & upset Helen even more.

ColdTeaAgain · 04/05/2016 19:22

It's all about the ruddy custard!!!!! Grin

BertrandRussell · 04/05/2016 19:23

Great. Finally a man is there to say something sensible. Helen will listen to him. Everything's going to be all right now. TASWAMA.

ColdTeaAgain · 04/05/2016 19:24

I take it back about Tony, he didn't do too bad but Tom is her real strength, good ol Tom just wish they'd get a better actor for him

BeauGlacons · 04/05/2016 19:25

Why didn't they just tell Helen the truth re Pat. Your mum's so desperate to help she went to an interview when the police called. She's now a witness for the prosecution and can't see you. She's very very upset. She didn't take Anna's,advice first. Anna's advice is very important. Tell Anna everything.

Minimammoth · 04/05/2016 19:27

Steady now, we are getting close to 'what's yellow and dangerous ' jokes.
