I do hope Lynda has a carbon monoxide monitor in there...

Idle and wild speculation is the meat and drink of this thread Grin

I did see a SW comment on an article -posdibly Daily Beast linked above saying if course SS would be all over it and they are a bit peeved to be misportrayed (again).

ColdTeaAgain · 26/04/2016 14:44

No! Don't talk like that MrsArthur! He will get what he deserves. He will! not doing a great job of convincing myself either

Am bracing myself for tonight's episode.

I have emergency wine if things get really bad.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 26/04/2016 14:47

The crisps and melted cheese on the top of a TP bake are the best bit!

If Helen was making it with chicken soup, as per PP's (sorry can't remember who) mum though, no wonder Knob didn't like it. It should be tomato.

Grin

I heard a bit of the repeat by mistake today. Is Jazzer living in the shop at the moment?

EmilyDickinson · 26/04/2016 15:11

Thinking about it, Pat and Tony could have problems persuading the court that Henry is better off with them than with Rob and Ursula. Look at the Bridge Farm record:

Farm accident - in which Henry's uncle, John was crushed under a tractor and killed.

Poor hygiene at dairy - resulting in temporary closure.

Farm accident - in Henry's presence in which Henry's grandfather was seriously injured by a bull.

Assault - Henry's other uncle, Tom, assaulted an employee.

I think it would be easy for Rob to argue that Henry would be much safer at Blossom Hill Cottage.

LillianGish · 26/04/2016 15:59

THe best that can be said for last night's episodes that the scales must have well and truly fallen from Patbot's eyes. Instead of all the hopeless bleating about him seeming so nice (in spite of initial reservations) and Hellin being so happy and giving him the benefit of the doubt and wondering where it all went wrong and Ursula seeming really nice she can now see the full horror of what Hellin was up against - the full, unvarnished truth. If she can just communicate this to Hellin somehow then Hellin might find it easier to start outlining exactly what life with Knob was like without thinking no one will believe her. And if Pat can take legal advice re parental responsibility based on what an earlier poster reported we might start seeing some action. We can only hope so because I don't think I listen to much more otherwise.

AugustaFinkNottle · 26/04/2016 16:18

Presumably Rob and Social Services don't know about Tom's assault, and I can't see how John's death is relevant to safety now. Rob would also be in a bit of a weak position claiming that he thinks the farm is too unsafe, given the number of times he's been perfectly happy to leave Henry at Bridge Farm.

Eastpoint · 26/04/2016 16:31

Ah, my mother never made it but I've been served it at dinner parties. If I mention my mother's worst dish I will out myself, it was the nastiest thing ever.

I just want all this unpleasantness to be over so I can back to listening to news about chickens, yurts & birdwatching. Cricket season must be starting soon.

enochroot · 26/04/2016 16:32

I'll give a BOOP for hearing Johnny again.

One of the few coherent things Helen has said is that she had to keep Henry safe. They should capitalise on that with social services.

GreenMarkerPen · 26/04/2016 18:07

what if rob next week returns to bf to work?

EmilyDickinson · 26/04/2016 18:21

Ursula will probably fill in for Rob filling in for Helen at the shop just to cause maximum angst and irritation to the Bridge Farm lot!

JessieMcJessie · 26/04/2016 18:25

I do hope that Pat and Tony empty a third lawyer, with specialism in employment, and fire Rob immediately. I think someone said upthread that he has not been there long enough to claim unfair dismissal and no reason has to be given?

Gumpendorf · 26/04/2016 18:42

Do we think Pat, Tony and Tom have considered Rob's position in the shop? My guess is they haven't and won't until Rob turns up for work. Rob wheedled his way into the business - job sharing Helen's role while she was pregnant and then taking it over. They've probably not considered the ramifications.

AugustaFinkNottle · 26/04/2016 18:53

I wonder if Rob had a specific employment contract. I'm a bit concerned he might say there was a partnership, which potentially has other legal ramifications.

GreenMarkerPen · 26/04/2016 18:54

are people with a stoma allowed to work around food?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 26/04/2016 18:57

Surely he couldn't claim.a partnership without evidence he had contributed financially.

PseudoBadger · 26/04/2016 19:00

Green - yes it is fine, obviously usual hygiene precautions apply

Justin's had a bit of a personality transplant, hasn't he? He was originally portrayed as the ruthless businessman who didn't care about driving roads through people's homes and put massive pressure on people like Charlie and Adam, but now he's become a bit of a pussycat. Still, if it makes Lill happy that's OK with me.

Bea · 26/04/2016 19:09
