I do hope Lynda has a carbon monoxide monitor in there...

The other issue that struck me immediately was money. Pat(bot)'n'Tone are not rolling in it. They have nobody to staff the shop full-time and Tom's sacked Jazzer. They are retaining a barrister for H, and the solicitor, now two solicitors. I don't think they were massively well-off anyway - at least, not able to summon up large amounts of cold, hard cash - so the pips are going to squeak pretty quickly, I fear. And the vile Peggy won't be giving any more handouts while she's sympathising with Knob.

Arsula and Bruce, OTOH, are minted. Maybe the Henwee School Fund will be diverted to repelling Pat'n'Tone, and they will have all the resources to out-gun them. I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks/months

(Btw - what about the school business? Now they've got Henwee in their clutches, will they go back to the school plan? Especially if they're angling to get hold of the baby )

GrumpyOldBag · 26/04/2016 10:25

Maybe they are planning to use Henry as a hostage to swap for the baby when it arrives?

trevortrevorslatterfry · 26/04/2016 11:11

I love tuna pasta bake Blush

AugustaFinkNottle · 26/04/2016 11:27

Dominic said that Helen should get legal aid for him and the barrister. She might even qualify for legal aid for the family stuff, given that there's domestic violence involved. However, if P&T are applying for Henry to come back to them I assume they'll have to pay for that.

I'd have thought they need to reopen the shop, they could surely draft in a Button or similar to serve there.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/04/2016 11:50

I like tuna pasta bake but it definitely does not contain soup or crisps.

so whose turn is it to listen tonight?

NotdeadyetBOING · 26/04/2016 11:51

I think we need to start calling him Titchyknob.

SingingAvocado · 26/04/2016 11:59

I like tuna pasta bake too – I make it like macaroni cheese with a white sauce and a tin of tuna and sweetcorn Smile! According to R4, in tonight's episode: Helen has a lot on her mind, and Lilian seeks support. Do you think she has got word (via Dominic / Anna) about what has happened to Henry? Is that forcing her to speak (as we'd hoped)?

TopOfTheCliff · 26/04/2016 12:12

My mum used to make that recipe including the crisps but without any pasta. I can see now why it tasted so strange! Concentrated Campbells cream of chicken soup with tuna and peas and crisps... uurgh

NotdeadyetBOING · 26/04/2016 12:13

VERY pleased we will finally hear from Helen. must step away from thread and do some work

Gruach · 26/04/2016 12:34

The long running Archers Spoilers Thread is here - for anyone interested!

Boing Grin I think you'll find that that is one of the several aliases Rob has gone by here for a couple of years at least.

leliondemer · 26/04/2016 12:38

I really hope when Helen hears that Henry has been kidnapped by Rob and Arse that she will get talking. Rob was vile last night. If he doesn't get his comeuppance then I will stop listening.

NotdeadyetBOING · 26/04/2016 12:42

Gruach Grin. Yes, I guess it was too obvious not to have been used already. Not sure how I missed it.

HandsomeGroomGiveHerRoom · 26/04/2016 12:59

Peggy really is awful, isn't she? Up there with Susan in the stupid stakes Angry

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/04/2016 13:12

Re the spoilers thread - just to reiterate that it exists so that this thread can be spoiler-free, as Olivia hates some posters hate spoilers with a passion.

Having said that, I've just updated the other thread.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 26/04/2016 13:19

I'm assuming ok to post both idle and wild speculation on here? Or should that be on the spoilers thread? Confused

I know nothing guv.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/04/2016 13:23

Idle and wild speculation is the meat and drink of this thread, MovingOnUpMovingOnOut! What isn't allowed is saying [made-up example follows] -

OMG, the Radio Times has Nigel in the cast list for next week!'

(If only... Sad)

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 26/04/2016 13:24

is irritating when TV/films portray abusers as monsters - it gives the message that they are not normal people when the sad reality is that they are all too normal - normal people who do terrible things.

This this this.

Although that is why it annoys me so much they resorted to a stabbing. In the main abusers are rather sad, pathetic little bullies when push comes to shove. They are not omnipotent not inescapable. It is possible to leave their sorry ass. It isn't easy but with the right help it is possible and then it becomes clear quite how mundane they are.

BertrandRussell · 26/04/2016 13:31

I'm disappointed that nobody noticed my wild speculation that Jess and Rob might get back together.......Sad

MrsArthurShappey · 26/04/2016 13:36

It occurs to me that the educational element to this whole storyline has been very successful. Men People at home and abroad have been given some excellent tips on how to be an abusive manipulative cunt and get away with it. I'm sure he'll get his comeuppance eventually, but totally destroying Helen (and possibly Henry) in the process. Winner!

And actually, I'm not at all sure he'll get his comeuppance Sad

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 26/04/2016 13:36

Grin thanks Gasp0de

I noticed Bertrand. I don't think they'll get back together but nor do I think she's going to be Hellin's saviour.

MrsArthurShappey · 26/04/2016 13:37

I did Bert, I wouldn't wish that upon Jess, no matter how annoying she is!

Gruach · 26/04/2016 13:42

Bert Grin + [Tiny violin emoticon]

There's wild ... and then there's unspeakable ...

BYOSnowman · 26/04/2016 13:49

I did bert!! And pointed out that I had made this suggestion some threads ago!!!

BitOutOfPractice · 26/04/2016 14:25

Surely Jess would have stepped forward when she read the stories in the paper and spoken to the police..

Hello, BTW, been AWOL a while

MrsArthurShappey · 26/04/2016 14:27

Nice to see you, to see you, nice BOOP.

There hasn't been a lot to BOOP home about recently!
