I do hope Lynda has a carbon monoxide monitor in there...

Thanks Pseudo Star. Brilliant as always.

The contrast between R4 and EBear's letters is the funniest, hardest hearted, sweetest thing. Grin Just when I think that surely TA can have no more to offer. Love this thread.

ppeat - I must have missed that bit Blush
Fink I think R4 and Ebear have covered the letters Grin

R4 · 19/04/2016 11:38

I'm horrible, aren't I.Grin I don't think I would have coped with a DD like Helen.

Surely, Ebear's letter is what you'd actually write, but R4's is the subtext. Grin

NotdeadyetBOING · 19/04/2016 11:46

EBear's* letter is excellent.

I would also shove in:

'I am so sorry that we didn't realise what a dreadful time you were having. I wish we'd known and been able to support you. Please know that we are 100% behind you'

Or something along those lines.

RubyRedfort1 · 19/04/2016 12:18

De-lurking to mark place.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2016 12:22

Thanks for yet another brilliant thread title Pseudo

ColdTeaAgain · 19/04/2016 12:41

Thanks pseudo, love the title, genious!

I think the packed bags will serve as evidence that she was telling the truth about wanting to move out but not sure if they would help her case about it being premeditated or not. They could easily argue she had planned to kill him and do a runner with Henry.

Helen sounded relieved that she will definitely have a hospital birth yet horrified at being alone as you would be. I think in her panicked state she had probably considered the possibility that Knob would refuse to take her to the hospital when she went in to labour and force her to have it at home.

R4 · 19/04/2016 13:33

Sorry, not getting the sympathy. Helen is "horrified at being alone" at the birth and yet won't let her mother visit her in prison. As ever, Helen wants everything her way without thinking of others or, even, the consequences for herself.

BYOSnowman · 19/04/2016 13:47

The packing he bag because she planned to kill him and do a runner doesn't work though because she thought she had killed him but didn't do the runner

JessieMcJessie · 19/04/2016 13:49

I was annoyed at how unhinged they made Helen sound with all the "is he safe? Is he safe? waaahh" business. Surely if she is that incoherent she should be under close psychiatric care? Too far.

I am also annoyed at Jim's new attitude to Jazzer, and his uncharacteristic lack of directness in broaching it with him, when they made such a good job of the Odd Couple storyline before.

Unless Jim is actually gearing up to propose to Auntie Chris, leaving the way clear for Jazzer to move in with Piggoi. That would be funny...

And YY where is Jennifer in all this Helen sub plot, seeing as she was the one who got closest to Jess and quite possibly noticed that something was not right in her marriage to ROB.

EBearhug · 19/04/2016 13:50

I don't think Helen's thinking very clearly about anything yet - whatever Anna said to her, it was clear she wasn't focusing on that, but thinking about Henry mostly and the baby a bit. She needs to get back to the Helen who could run the shop and make cheese and come up with promotional ideas and so on.

BYOSnowman · 19/04/2016 13:54

They are writing the women as feeble minded hysterics for some reason and think that Anna the barrister will negate it

Not sure that's really how it works

They also nicely stereotypes male response with Tom thumping jazzer

Soc is just such a cliche and only seems capable of following cliche (apologies for lack of accents)

bigbuttons · 19/04/2016 14:06

marking place!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 19/04/2016 14:13

They need to open the shop and start finding things.

ppeatfruit · 19/04/2016 14:23

Well I don't like SOC much either, but he can't win can he? Helen (going against stereotype) actually stabbed Rob and that's wrong, then Tom boxes Jazzer and thats a cliche. Grin

Toomuchtea · 19/04/2016 14:26

Agree MovingOnUp. Open up the shop, open up the accounts and open up the order books.

Toomuchtea · 19/04/2016 14:27

They're making such a meal of NOT opening the shop that there must surely be A Clue to be found.

MrsArthurShappey · 19/04/2016 14:43

Checking in. Still not listening.

As you were...

PseudoBadger · 19/04/2016 14:54

BYOS - Anna will probably need to consult with her Man Boss to sort the whole silly business out.
Jessie - did you write ROB as an homage to Twin Peaks' BOB?

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 19/04/2016 15:15

Helen stabbing rob was a soap cliche!!

BYOSnowman · 19/04/2016 15:17

How horrid does Jim come across though? That he was quietly hoping jazzer would just stay at bridge farm and now he's avoiding him.

Seems out of character for Jim.

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/04/2016 15:26

Finally caught up with the threads! Thanks for this new one, Pseudo.

PseudoBadger · 19/04/2016 15:28

"Seems out of character for Jim."

Certainly does considering they wrote all those lovely bonding sessions for them.
