We've never been told that the solicitor is from Usha's firm, have we?

Yes we were, when he was first introduced.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 12/04/2016 11:25

DDD Oh my goodness that would be amazing. The Muppets Take Ambridge

starring

The Count as Knob (obv)
Beaker as Roy of the Rotas?
Janice as Kate
Fozzie Bear as Kenton
Sam the Eagle as Jim

I've always imagined Fallon's dad as looking like the leader of the band anyway! Not sure of his name though.

Blush off to get a grip of my life and do some work!

Lilymaid · 12/04/2016 11:33

The older characters have seen it all before, one way and another and some, like Jill, are so practical.
This is why it is going to be a horrible shock for Piggoi when she is told that Helen was subject to domestic abuse. She suffered all those years with drunken Jack Archer.

Gumpendorf · 12/04/2016 11:49

The conversation between Jill and Elizabeth was so grown up and sensible after last week's melodrama.

Davros · 12/04/2016 12:49

I actually think the BBC should decide to expunge all the footage(?) since the lunchtime confrontation and take it down the route of Helen leaving. The rest could all turn out to have been a dream Grin. They should have the guts to hold up their hands and say it was a mistake, rewind

polyhymnia · 12/04/2016 14:50

Surely the confrontation over the tuna bake was at dinner not lunch time?

2rebecca · 12/04/2016 14:59

It was evening as Henry had gone to bed and they were having wine. I found it odd that the police phoned Pat and Tony as soon as they arrived and they were in bed already as I'd have thought it was 9ish by then.

EBearhug · 12/04/2016 15:03

At one point, I think Harrison said they received a call from Miss Miller at 9:40pm, didn't he?

EmilyDickinson · 12/04/2016 15:07

2rebecca When Harrison brought the senior police officer up to speed he said that Kirsty had called the police at 9.40pm. I guess that by the time that the police and ambulance arrived, the police had assessed the situation, allowed the ambulance crew into the house, spoken to Kirsty and Helen, checked on Henry and phoned Pat and Tony it must have been closer to 10pm, if not later, which wouldn't be an unreasonable time for farmers to go to bed.

(Basing this last observation on very little actual knowledge other than the fact that Farming Today starts at 5.45am, so I've always pictured farmers getting up at that time!)

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/04/2016 15:08

Yes, it was 9.40. So it would have been some time after 10 when they phoned Pat and Tony.

I was thinking about the timeline generally. Knob was a bit late back from the shop, Helen was still cooking; was Henry in bed at that point? But I assumed he got back at 7ish, which would mean he was stabbed by say 8.30 at the latest. Kirsty can't have been that far away and she phoned not long after she got there, which suggests that Helen waited quite a long time before calling. I assume in that time she was putting Henry to bed and trying to clear up the famous custard. But if those calculations are correct, the fact that she left him lying there for around an hour isn't going to look good in court.

2rebecca · 12/04/2016 15:18

I thought they had dinner as soon as Rob got back as he didn't bother with the shower. Tuna bake doesn't take long to eat so I thought the stabbing would be before 8 which is why I wondered why pat and Tony were in bed.

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/04/2016 15:20

Yes, it could well have been earlier (though Helen needed time to make the famous custard!); I was stretching the times in her favour. If they ate earlier, it makes the time lag before calling Kirsty even longer.

EmilyDickinson · 12/04/2016 15:24

Augusta I think that Henry was getting ready for bed when Rob got back, but Helen had said to Kirsty, just before Rob got home that Henry was late going to bed I think, so it might have been later than 7pm.

I wonder what the opening hours of the farm shop are?

I guess there would be a number of things to do after the shop closed:

Cashing up.

Nicking cash.

Moving the scotch eggs back from a place of obscurity to a place of prominence so that you can claim, "They just aren't selling Tom, I'm promoting them as much as I can."

Checking phone tracker to see where Helen's been today.

Calling on Pat and telling her how tired and unstable Helen is today.

Phoning the boarding school to see if Henry's place could be deferred till September rather than starting this term.

Giving Tony's tables a bit of a kick.

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/04/2016 15:26

Grin at Knob's list of post-cashing up essential tasks.

Bajanella · 12/04/2016 15:50

When Helen was being interviewed by the police they said that there was 9 minutes between Helen telling Kirsty on the phone that they were still eating and that everything was fine, and the next phone call to Kirsty after the stabbing. Kirsty got there ASAP and phoned the emergency services quickly. I guess the custard mopping was between phoning Kirsty and Kirsty arriving.

Bajanella · 12/04/2016 15:55

The timing's odd, though.

Kirsty phoned emergency services at 9.40.
So she must have arrived at BHC at about 9.35.
Say it took her 15 mins to get there - Helen must have phoned at about 9.20.
Which puts the "nine minutes earlier" call to Kirsty at 9.11 ish.
Which suggests Rob got home 8.45ish at the earliest.

Bajanella · 12/04/2016 16:00

So Henry was "just getting ready for bed" at 8.45pm.

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/04/2016 16:03

I also have never understood how Henry was sitting in front of a DVD just after the attack, but quietly in bed by the time the police had arrived. Other issues apart, I can't seriously see him settling after what he'd seen and with his mother sobbing uncontrollably.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 12/04/2016 17:11

On a lighter note - ex cast member Felicity Jones (Brenda?) is in Rogue One - next Star Wars film

Davros · 12/04/2016 17:11

Blush for suggesting it was lunchtime.
There's a few letters in the back of today's new RT and a mealy mouthed response from "A spokesperson for The Archers"

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 12/04/2016 17:12

Felicity Jones played Emma.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 12/04/2016 18:11

They did say 9 minutes in interview but in the episode I hot the impression it was much longer. Obviously she called K mot an ambulance. So the time between stabbing and ambulance was quite long.

Also I think time between Rob home and stanbinv was quite long. He had a shower then they ate tuna bake. Then she dropped bombshell. Much shouting. Stabbing. Panicking. Dvd. More panicking. Kirsty call. Kirsty arrived. Calls ambulance

Re. Anna she was mentioned during JDs investigations but cannot remember if occupation was mentioned.

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/04/2016 18:21

So, if it was less than 9 minutes, she just can't have put Henry to bed, can she? I suspect that was a scriptwriter's blooper.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 12/04/2016 18:26

No. I think timeline is ok.

Say H to bed 7.30. Rob arrived 7.40.
Suutcase rant >7.45
Shower >8.05
At table eating till 8.35
Helen drops bombshell.
Shouting argument
Stabbing at 8.45.
Phone call 9.04
Kirsty arrives 9.25
Some chat to Helen
Goes to kitchen 9.35
Establishes rob not dead. Towels eyc.
Ambulance called.9.40

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 12/04/2016 18:27

Sorry phone call 9.54
