Paul Trueman (excellent name!) tweets:

Two stab wounds to the abdomen and a wound to the wrist. Hardly several times, or a prolonged attack.

Cockadoodledooo · 05/04/2016 17:21

Please excuse the interloper!

I have LA, and can hear she stabbed him maybe as much as twice. But the paramedic said 3 stab wounds?
Am I way wide of the mark to think that one or more may have been self-inflicted? He does have rather a habit of making Helen think she's done things she hasn't...

Gruach · 05/04/2016 17:34

From The Times

I've just found out that Timothy Watson's real life wife is also called Helen Shock

Greengager · 05/04/2016 17:41

I've been really not keen on the sensational and unrealistic handling of last night's episode. The idea that the police would drag a hysterical Helen into a van in front of her 5 year old seemed very wrong and a brilliant way to create long term MH problems. Have a hard time belieivng experienced police officers would do that. Very unrealistic.

KingscoteStaff · 05/04/2016 17:42

How on earth he fitted that rabbit in the bin I'll never know.

Minimammoth · 05/04/2016 17:49

BYOS I agree I am not looking forward to the 'no one believing Helen' part, I hope Ian visits her to find the truth. Surely there must be others who have seen nasty Rob. Maybe there is something in the woodpile.

DadDadDad · 05/04/2016 17:53

Yes, but also, Pat and Tony had Henry and seemed to be standing there "gawping" when you'd think they'd be whisking Henry away as quickly as possible to avoid him seeing any more.

stilllearnin · 05/04/2016 17:54

Will the stefan thing perhaps resurface? I am not keen on the dramatic culmination of this either. I really really dont want to listen to a drawn out court case either. I may be yet another relying on you lot to fill me in. tia

Someone on this thread, about a million threads ago, theorised that Rob might well have met his match in Helen ..

Gruach that may have been me? I've certainly said similar, as i'm sure others may have.

By the way, I'm out for a birthday dinner tonight - if this thread reaches 970 posts before tomorrow someone else will have to start the next thread....

Long time lurker...finally catching up on the weekend omnibus now that the R&H storyline is finally coming to a head. Haven't been able to cope with listening over the past few months, so have been using MN to stay up to date Hmm

3littlefrogs · 05/04/2016 17:59

I really hope someone will go through the books at the shop, and look at the computer history to see where Rob has altered Helen's orders. There must be someone in Ambridge who is a little bit computer savvy.

There is a huge amount of evidence of Rob's unscrupulous and criminal behaviour if only it can be put together. What a shame so many people seem to suffer from amnesia.

PseudoBadger · 05/04/2016 18:01

I had a vague feeling that it was you PseudoStar

(And I will try to limit my posts this evening!)

NelsonsWineBar · 05/04/2016 18:09

It's all so disheartening. Yes there have been other SL and it wasn't all bumble bees in jolly fields. And yes this SL has been carefully built up and has highlighted abuse.

But the stabbing means that we are surely in for months of police/trial/blame instead of listening to how an abused woman got out and became free.

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 18:11

Tbd to pat and tone - I think if you saw your dd being hauled off by the police in that state you would be totally torn.

DadDadDad · 05/04/2016 18:21

I would put the probability of this thread filling up tonight as fairly low, unless we get an explosive shock as big as Sunday's, eg Helen gives birth, Rob dies, and she is charged with murder? I guess we'll know the answer to that within the hour...

SausagesAndLaughter · 05/04/2016 18:27

I feel so tense waiting for tonight's episode

SarfEast1cated · 05/04/2016 18:29

I actually can\t bear to listen anymore! just going to read Lowfields for a while, through my fingers Grin

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 05/04/2016 18:56

Whilst trying to wrestle the IKEA sofa bed back together - I had a light bulb moment re Miles

What if Rob caused Miles to incur a brain injury when they were boys?

Maybe that's why Rob went to boarding school early. The 'bad home life' comment to Ursula could mean Miles in and out of hospital, his dad blaming Rob etc. Ursula was very keen on 'boys will be boys' blah blah blah
Perhaps that's why M remains at the farm?
Also it could explain why he dropped the adoption route - he didn't want it to be discovered. Would also explain why he wanted to keep H away from his family.

I could imagine him goading a brother (even an older one) into doing something stupid like jumping off a hay barn

EmilyDickinson · 05/04/2016 18:58

I'm confused about the stab wounds. I do hope that we hear from forensics about what happened.

Rob has three wounds: wrist, abdomen and chest (punctured lung as a result).

The first wound was received when he grabbed or tried to grab Henry. I imagined that he was turned away from Helen but if he was stabbed in the abdomen or chest then surely he was facing her. But then wouldn't Henry have been between them and in the way?

Why was the one to the wrist the most serious? I'd have thought that it would be difficult to inflict a serious stab wound to the wrist of a moving person, so assumed it was a defensive wound received as Helen stabbed a second time and Rob put his arm up to ward off the blow.

I don't believe that Rob inflicted it himself.

I hope that tonight we hear reaction from the other characters. I can just imagine Adam saying "WHAT!!" (He says this a lot but usually when arguing with Brian) and I can just hear Ian muttering darkly, "I bet he deserved it." I reckon Ian will make it up withHelen straight away now and be off to visit her.

Susan will be gutted that she's not first to know and will be straight round to Bridge Farm to ask if there's anything she can doseeking information

I wonder if they'll open up the shop and/or tea room. I reckon they'll do good business with the "gawkers".

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 19:00

Weren't there four stabs - 2 to the abdomen

Will it still be Sunday? Or Sunday could have been Monday...

Hopefully by now Kirsty has been interviewed and has explained about the abuse and they have got specialist police in to interview Helen

I'm assuming they wouldn't have interviewed her in the state she was in?

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 19:01

They can't open the shop as they have no one to run it now!!!
