BYOS - Agree. KD is the only SW I know of who tweets smugly. As such, he deserves any and all opprobrium heading in his direction, whether or not he wrote tonight's script.

She hasn't left though, she's still in BHC having plonked Henry down with a DVD.

I am very disappointed too. I thought Friday was simply brilliant and this is just not satisfactory.

If they'd wanted to go for drama it would have been preferable to have Helen leave and go to Bridge Farm when Rob was out. Then he follow her there, the whole family get involved in the wrangle and Tom punch him causing him to hit his head on an authentic organic milk churn.

They can't dump the body, Henry was a witness!

And... Kirsty heard him roaring angrily from upstairs when he found the suitcase.

No way would she have toddled off, she would have hung around outside and called the police when she heard Knob hit Hells.

You know how SOC loves digging up the past?

I hope the sadly departed archivist has hidden from him all record of poor Kirsty, years ago, in the dock beside a different Bridge Farm Archer.

(Just saying ...)

Just listened again. If Henry hadn't come in I don't think it would have escalated. He stood up for his mummy. However I'm not going to rationalise such an unlikely episode any more. This is just so bad.

I am shocked and sadly not surprised at the EE style episode.
I had G&T ready, OH ready for hugs in case of crying (a too regular occurrence) and ended up shouting oh for fucks sake - good thing we're in a detached house!

Bet the WA & Refuge people are banging their heads against a wall now. 😡

And just when I thought it could not get any more far fetched and completely unbelieveable, it does.

Going on past form, tomorrow's episode should see Pat, Shula etc etc by Rob's bedside praying for him to pull through.

So disappointing and shows how quickly a good drama can be ruined. Sad

The MOST unrealistic thing about all this is that NOT ONCE has she been on MN for advice. Wink

Report
Vango · 03/04/2016 20:59

In many ways it hardly matters whether she's stabbed him, lightly grazed him or if he simply hit his head and lost consciousness as a result of the fall. Whatever happens he's won for now. Either he has her right where he wants her (under his thumb) and she does exactly as she's told in future, or she risks losing custody of the children when he reports her to the police for attacking him and every other made up allegation that he can think of and back up.

Delurking to add my anger at Helen ending up the aggressor. I was with a Rob - he hit me once, I stayed and endured more emotional and financial abuse until I left with the help of mumsnet, my mother (who had been a Patbot until I showed her my threads) and my best friend.

I didn't kill him, I didn't even throw anything at him or hit him. I just read on here, posted a bit and talked to a solicitor eventually.

He continues to try to control me and make my life a misery, aided and abetted by my very own Arseula of a former MIL.

It's so frustrating and enervating and brings tears of anger to my eyes that they have descended into the least likely outcome for the sake of shock value. I won't be listening again, just reading on here.

Delurking
omnibus listener and having enjoyed this morning I had to listen this eve. Agree it was all horribly accelerated and sudden. A planned getaway episode would have been good.

I really hope Rob is not dead

Wasn't it only a week or so ago that Hellin publicly announced 'I'll kill him" after hearing about the boarding school plan? Sad

Vango · 03/04/2016 21:01

And by that I mean that yes, SOC has finally ruined it.

I think Kirsty might have gone (without hearing the assault) because she is so desperate for Helen to leave that she would have been scared to do anything that might have interfered with Helen's plan. So when Helen told her to go, she might have complied from fear that Rob would see her (Kirsty) and the ensuing row would stopped Helen from escaping.

Just when I had reached the point of thinking it MIGHT be worthwhile trying to listen again after hearing the womans hour interview. [have not bothered after some idiot decided Nigel had to fall off the roof and die] .....but having been the friend who warned friend I did not like her bloke. He was a volitile person who needed help but could not see he did let alone go get it. Told her if she needed me to come get her and the kids to call me anytime day or night. That relationship really blew up leaving me as the one stood between them calling 999, I am having a hard time believing that stupid stupid storyline. The huge majority of mums would try and shelter their child not counter attack.

Unless someone pulls together a more realistic plot twist and darn fast TA can stay unlistened to. [no suitable smilie]

I studied criminal law in the late 80's. There were loads of cases where men had got off murder and convicted of manslaughter where women had mocked them/their sexual abilities and therefore the men had been "provoked". In contrast women who had put up with physical and emotional abuse for years were done for murder because when they had finally flipped and killed their partners it hadn't been entirely unpremeditated. Eg women stabbing drunk, sleeping men to death, having gone downstairs to fetch a knife.

Fortunately the law has moved on from then, a bit.

It doesn't matter whether he is dead or not.

The SL is utterly fucked.
They had an opportunity to do something useful and they totally, totally fucked it. And I am so disappointed to see how many people (on twitter) are actually pleased. It's not a pantomime ffs.

I utterly loathe SOC.
