Thanks to Lancelottie for the title Flowers

OP posts:
bakeoffcake · 01/04/2016 22:34

Lalalalalala or fingers in ears would be good in the next title too.

redshoeblueshoe · 01/04/2016 22:44

Smalllegs bunny-binner Grin it makes bunny boiler seem tame.
Another vote saying Jess/Helen was well done.
New thread title could actually be the current one, part 2 Grin
Lovely not to hear Rob tonight. I am enjoying Wine
Things will get worse before they get better.

Butteredparsnips · 01/04/2016 22:46

smalllegs you could be right about Arseula wanting a continued presence in the new baby's life. That would at least be a reason for some of the clunkier aspects of her involvement in the storyline.

BertrandRussell · 01/04/2016 22:48

Yep. Rob will crumble and Ursula will be outed as the real abuser. Because TASWAMA.

glowfrog · 01/04/2016 22:51

Fink I hope so re: baby, though Jess has Ethan in different circumstances as it turns out, since Rob is NOT his father.

AugustaFinkNottle · 01/04/2016 22:52

Augusta (may I call you Gussie?!)

Of course, iisme!

glintwithpersperation · 01/04/2016 22:52

I wonder if Kirsty is going to convince H to speak to Fallon and PC Plum? Then he might convince her to press charges.

redshoeblueshoe · 01/04/2016 22:54

Yes but grand parents don't have automatic rights. So for a gd that she has never seen its not going to happen. My understanding is that GP's have to have played a quite significant role in the child's life for a court to give them access.

Putthetulipsthere · 01/04/2016 23:13

plimsolls That's a great way to meet your OH - over an Archers discussion. I only know about 4 or 5 who listen ( my DP not included) & none as over infested as me.

Bunny binner 😀😀😀

Bails2014 · 01/04/2016 23:20

Dull Dorothy! I can't stand a wet lettuce.

Tonight really seemed like progress on The Rob Issue.

Bails2014 · 01/04/2016 23:31

Also, brain wave.

Could the way out of this not be a resolution to this issue but the resolution to a previous one. Was it Pablo the chap from Berrow that went missing? Imagine if he hadn't returned home but had been dispatched to ensure his silence, a body comes to light and the guilty party either does a runner or ends up in prison. He is out of the scene but with his return always hovering....

LillianGish · 01/04/2016 23:39

I have wifi!! I loved the fact that that the SWs wrote in a line to explain why Jess was not in Hampshire and so was able to meet up at short notice - trying to appease any nitpickers - but appeared to completely failed to remember that she works as a social worker. Also, was it just me, or did Jess sound just like Nic? (of course it's so long since Nic has appeared I'd almost forgotten her existence until I heard Jess's voice this evening). When Helen had to sit down on her walk with Jess I've half wondered if she was going to go into labour there and then. So good to be back - I have missed you all. [tea]

redshoeblueshoe · 02/04/2016 00:04

Glad you're back Lillian, its too late for tea here, Wine

AskBasil · 02/04/2016 00:10

They could draw out this storyline for years.

They get divorced, he then sues for custody, continually threatens to sue for custody, doesn't turn up for contact, turns up late, interrogates her every time Henwee has a bruise from falling over and threatens to sue for custody because she's so neglectful, undermines her when the children go to stay, plays that outside pissing in to her family game...

It could go on for years I tell you! Grin

The abuse doesn't stop when the couple split. In RL, he'd be using the children to continue his control of her even if they do split.

Not sure if the listeners could stand it though.

EBearhug · 02/04/2016 00:12

I'm in north Hampshire. I can get a direct train to Brum in 2 hours, and they run hourly. I expect it stops at Felpersham a stop or two before Birmingham. Driving times are similar. You don't necessarily need that much notice to go from one to the other.

spiker · 02/04/2016 00:15

Just LA. BOOP de BOOP for Hel and Jess - convincingly written I thought (and acted - although I sense I am in minority on Jess actor front). But...I am off to warmer climes on Sunday...wtf will I do if I can't listen - it feels like it's going to be a crucial week . Although I can do without Dullothea thanks. And WHAT is up with Ruth??

I am now trying to think of ways to drop 'bunny binner' into casual conversation now. Grin

Travelledtheworld · 02/04/2016 05:32

PseudoBadger
Current thread title is brilliant. Was out last night and kept sniggering about it.
I would be quite happy with ".....cuntery, folks" Part 2.

Scarydinosaurs · 02/04/2016 06:50

Will I be able to listen in SE Asia??

This is a week I don't want to miss!

Gruach · 02/04/2016 07:27

Bails I'd say the consensus over the past 20 odd threads has been either that the SWs (sans archivist and encouragement) have forgotten Stefan or that he is being saved for SOC's grand exit. In which case he may well drag his poor xombified self out of the culvert for a tearful reunion with Charlie, David, Jenny and his former boss at the very end of Spring.

Welcome back Lil'GFlowers

Thank you for another epic thread Pseudo. And Lancelottie.Star

GypsyFl0ss · 02/04/2016 07:34

Scary have you tried here to download them? I've been able to do that when in Europe but not sure about further afield.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 02/04/2016 08:58

AskBasil I would like the sl to go that way.

A lot of people think you leave and that's it everything sorted.

It would be a good educational sl for survivors on how to manage contact (with extreme indifference imo).

And for public in general who probably think that in cases of dv contact is routinely denied - it isn't if the experiences of others on MN is anything to go by.

It need not be too upfront a sl it could just grumble along in the background every now and again.

Ah the joys of coparenting with a fuckwit.

As an aside, I received excellent advice on the subject of contact at a crucial time from another regular on this thread .

If H does go down the route of court then they can highlight the loss of legal aid for family court unless you can prove DA. So she may end up representing herself.

Stickerrocks · 02/04/2016 09:00

Ebearhug You forgot to say though that the train would unexpectedly stop outside Reading for 40 minutes in one of those zones with no mobile signal then terminate, leaving Helen waiting at Felpersham until the softplay shut.

JasperDamerel · 02/04/2016 09:16

I agree that divorce and child contact wrangling would be a realistic conclusion, along with a general failure of most of the village to condemn Rob. Some people would be aghast, but lots will gossip about Helen's paranoia, instability and inability to keep a man, and suggest that it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. I can Susan, Brian, Justin, Oliver and Caroline (if they ever return) all thinking that Rob's been treated badly by the Archers.

ArgyMargy · 02/04/2016 09:20

I normally listen on the iPlayer as I go to sleep. Imagine how it felt to be jolted awake again by Rooth's maniacal cackling! Was she pissed??
